Oh well..
Hey, I'm still hopeful - if they've gone for a setup slightly biased to a dry race, and the weathermen are actually right for once, we'll be in for a cracker. At least it's a track where there'll be some overtaking.
But yes... I bow to your predictive skillz.
Good race. Alonso is in a league of his own this year. Hasn't made a mistake, really looking good with a car capable of winning regularly. Glad Vettel got second in the end. McLaren has found pace out of nowhere :O Still a long season though, seems most of the teams have the tires under control.
Any idea why Hamilton retired?
I'm not convinced he has the best car, it's difficult to say IMO, but he's certainly making the most of what he has!Good race. Alonso is in a league of his own this year. It was an okay race. Not impressed by the start with Lewis and Massa..
Also not surprised by Vettel's cheating and blatant lies after the race. Germans ey...
Can someone fill me in, because I was swapping between cricket and F1 streams. How did Vettel cheat, exactly...?
German Grand Prix race stewards have decided to take no further action against Red Bull over torque map irregularities.
The stewards stated that, while they did not accept all of Red Bull's arguments, there was no infringement of Article 5.5.3 of the technical regulations.
This means that Sebastian Vettel will be allowed to line up second on the grid for the race, with team-mate Mark Wark Webber eighth after a gearbox change.
The statement from the stewards read as follows: "The stewards received a report from the FIA technical delegate, along with specific ECU data from Red Bull Racing cars #1 and #2. The Stewards met with the team representatives and the representative of the engine supplier Renault.
"While the stewards do not accept all the arguments of the team, they however conclude that as the regulation is written, the map presented does not breach the text of Art 5.5.3 of the Formula 1 Technical Regulations and therefore decided to take no action."
The equivocal wording of the stewards' statement suggests that Red Bull might be not entirely within the spirit of the regulations. If the FIA is unhappy with what Red Bull is doing with its engine mapping, it is possible that there could be a rules clarification at a later date closing any potential loophole.

@MyDog Well I didn't say Ferrari has the best car, just one capable of winning. Just like Red-Bull and McLaren.![]()
@Ros - Need to lurk less on the British F1 forums. Vettel was along side Button, Vettel then took the safer option, look at the overtake again and you'd see in the end Button used the entire road and left Vettel no room, while Vettel was a significant portion next to Button. Compare that to Bahrain where your beloved Hamilton over took Rossberg off track while not even being next to him when Rossberg started his move to the right. Just butt hurt McLaren fans
Seems a clear-cut case to me. You can't go off-track to gain an advantage. He either gives the place back or drops down one as far as I recall the rules...
Top comment sums it up nicelyRelating to Red Bull, not Vettel:
Vettel's issue was that he overtook Button off track. Very close but interesting to see if it was legal for him to use that piece of track or not... He would likely have done it before the next lap regardless, but still... let's see what the rules say. I reckon he should have backed off and tried again later.
