Thanks! Woo hoo... I have high hopes for Lotus this year. Pity Kubica isn't back yet :(

Kubica won't be back for a long time if ever, he cannot for the moment operate a f1 car, it is too cramped. He is racing but in f1 you need 100% of your arms working and he isn't close to that and may never achieved 100%, at best perhaps 80 but with nerves it could take years. I would write kubica off in f1 sadly for at least another 2-3 years.

Looks like stepped noses will be staying with us for a while.

Hmm... would like to compare. I think next year may be different with the engine changes. Less emphasis on aero, more on power and ERS.

I think this years cars are more an extension of last years... nothing majorly new. Next year (2014), however... the rules change more significantly.

Autosport.com said:
McLaren may have raised some eyebrows with the step change in its car design for this season, but technical chiefs are adamant it was an essential move if it is to gun for Formula 1 title glory this year.

With the rules not changing dramatically for 2013, and teams already devoting much resource to the radical 2014 overhaul, it had been widely expected that the new cars would be mere evolutions of last year's designs.

McLaren has gone much further than that, however. It was reworked its concept in a wide range of areas, including switching to pull-rod suspension, increasing the height of its chassis so it now needs a 'vanity' panel' for a stepped nose, and being ultra-aggressive with the bodywork around the rear.

If you enjoy fantasy sport, www.pff1.net give it a try, great f1 game and need more SA players.
I thought this is a good time to start with a new thread for the 2013 season.

To end off 2012, here's a link to Michael Schumacher's Hall of Fame page at Formula1.com:

Here's an unofficial highlights video of the 2012 season. Hopefully the official formula1.com version will be out soon:

Still waiting to hear who Kimi's teammate at Renault will be.

Lotus still has the ugly nose... RB too (a bit better - but still there). But yes they all just hide it with some cosmetics..
