F1 2014 thread

Where are the likes of a Ronnie Peterson or a Gille Villeneuve today, had they not passed away before their time I'm sure they would have been up there as well.

He never belonged there, I wouldn't say it was a fair chance.

They had the same equipment, and the bias was actually towards Alonso at the start of the season.I'm no fan of either one but at least Hamilton proved he's in the same class.

The Hamilton - Alonso partnership at McLaren wasn't all hugs and kisses but Alonso running off to Ferrari crying like a girl didn't help him win a championship. Hamilton won a championship at Mclaren and looks likely to win another at Mercedes. Alonso will probably be more worried about former team mate Massa passing him in a Williams than challenging for a win, never mind a championship.

Alonso has the potential to win all the time if he had the right car. Remaining at Ferrari is a mistake unless the rumours about Adrian Newey moving to Ferrari are true...

Were denied yesterday by Newey.

Prob got a nice increase :)

Not quite. The exact words: "I remain committed to Red Bull for the foreseeable future." Splitting hairs but there's room for manoeuvre there...

Alonso was blown away by a LH as a rookie. And you somehow think he will beat him? I doubt that. It will be very close for sure, but Lewis is the better driver.
They've come far from being rookies and put Lewis in a Ferrari now he'd be far forgotten unlike the good fight in Alonso he's clearly got a hunger for a title in an uncompetitive car unlike Hamilton who has got a snif and suddenly he's this "brilliant" driver.

Lewis has always been a good driver. Remember Lewis was the rookie and Alonso was already a double world champion, and yet he was beaten. Lewis has matured and is a. even better driver now and I have no doubt that if you put him in a Ferrari he would be doing as well as, if not better than Alonso.

Not a chance mate. I was anyway commenting on the fight within them.. Talent? Seb!

Let me put this debate to an end.
Lewis beat Alonso in the same car while he (Lewis) was a rookie. Seb is being beaten by his inexperienced team mate in the same car.

End of.
:D
