F1 2014 thread

It's taking a ridiculously long time to fix that stupid barrier. Raikkonen really screwed everyone over with his crappy driving.

And Ricciardo showing finger boy how to drive yet again!

Speaking to Australian TV Network 10 after qualifying in Austria Marko, who nurtured Ricciardo through the Red Bull driver programme and Toro Rosso, said that the problem is that Vettel is a perfectionist, where Ricciardo is able to drive around problems,

“To be fair Sebastian had far more technical troubles (than Ricciardo). On the other hand they both get the same material. If the car is not to his liking, Daniel seems to be more a driver who can handle it.

“Sebastian is a perfectionist; he needs to get the car really right and if it is not right he cannot make it like Daniel does.”

Great race, thoroughly enjoyed it. Well most of it, due to the crash at the beginning the PVR recorded a timeslot shy of the last few laps so will need to catch up tonite.

Great rides from Bottas having qualified 14th to finish 2nd. Lewis, well, lucky for him. Even the McLarens managed a points finish, that in itself was an achievement.

Tough luck for Massa and Kimi, that's how it goes. And Alonso, really, could the team not tell him that he is out of position ??

Gutierrez penalized for Maldonado collision

Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez will drop three places on the grid at the next round in Germany after Silverstone stewards decided he was ‘predominantly at fault’ for a coming-together with Lotus’s Pastor Maldonado during Sunday’s 2014 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix.

Maldonado’s car was launched into the air in spectacular fashion after Gutierrez made an ambitious passing attempt on the Venezuelan down the inside at Vale, less than 10 laps into the race.

Gutierrez’s afternoon ended soon after when he went off into the gravel with accident damage. Maldonado was able to continue, but ultimately retired after 49 laps with technical problems and was classified 17th.
