it IS a bit odd though that a driver who famously has a driving style that preserves tyres and was in clear air overcooked his tyres - as opposed to battling and being stuck behind others' dirty air. nevertheless - its race week again

No, just an F1 fan that would prefer some racing during a race.
Lol...and you have got that every single race so far this season, WITH drama as well (crashes; brake failures; DRS failures - RBR; DRS failures being fixed - Yuki!; drivers going off-track and still challenging - Vettel). And we are not even halfway there.
Season is young...as Hamilton once said (before hitting The Magic Button last year), it's not a sprint. Enjoy a season that, so far, is more enjoyable than last year's was, and that was great.

You should see if there are any jobs at Drive to Survive.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Bigger runoffs needed at kyalami?! WTF
Compared to say the runoffs at Monaco or any of the other street circuits?
Should've just taken the officials via the office park and it's parking above - that seems to be all the rage for race tracks these days.

damn f1 will be expensive for the people outside of jhb

tickets flights accommodation looking at like 25k
At least you'll be able to get accommodation. Looking at Silverstone right now, you'll see (luxury) tents for two at £2500 for the weekend.

I agree with you. If there are problems with runoff at some corners, just install concrete barriers with those fancy foam buffers...

I would have thought they have private jets.
Or is that only social justice / green Lewis?

Max Verstappen's Dassault Falcon 900EX

One of the most famous jets out there belongs to the current champion (we will leave discussions about the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP for another occasion), Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Racing number one driver owns a Dassault Falcon 900EX operated by Dutch private jet charter company Exxaero.

Sir Lewis Hamilton sold his three years ago

Meanwhile, seven-time world champion and Mercedes driver Sir Lewis Hamilton used to own a Bombardier Challenger 605, registered as G-LCDH (Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton). However, the recently knighted Hamilton sold the burgundy bird back in 2019 to better live up to his own sustainability standards.

Don't you hate it when that happens?
