Come back Seb, we need you!!! (Or he's waiting for that slot of Hamilton's!)...

I'll lmao if he replaces Mattia...

Some butthurt "fan" who started following the sport in 2021, and then picked Hamilton after Googling his one-sided dominance of the sport for the previous couple of years.
...then dropped Hamilton this year when he couldn't drive a car that gifted him with wins.
Stopped reading after "Some butthurt "fan""

This isn't a complete surprise. It opens the door for De Vries now to take his place. Then it's Alpine for POSSIBLY Gasly. If he goes, who goes to AT?
Just to build on this. There are currently 2 seats open, one each at Williams and Alpine. De Vries is a shoe in for one of them, the other one is still up for grabs.

The Alpine seat will be either Gasly or de Vries, with the other one at AT. That leaves a question mark at Williams. I can't see Ricciardo going there, nor Schumacher so it'll likely be a youngster from the Merc stable. Or maybe Drugovich?

De Vries will go to Williams. Then to Mercedes if Ham retires/moves teams in the next 2-3yrs. Time will tell if I was right.

I think Drugovich has a reserve / test driver contract - i seem to remember hearing that somewhere - so he is out of contention

Williams have been quite keen on Sargent (also from F2) so he could possibly get that seat OR become their reserve. The AT seat is not a given since Gasly is already there

So with that in mind, would Toto be willing to give up a potential future Ham replacement? Surely retaining "owership" of De Vries via a Williams seat (Latifi) until Ham retires would make sense to Toto?

De Vries is 27 already so not young by F1 standards. If he doesn't get a seat soon he'll be the guy that could've had a great F1 career.

Besides Merc already has Russell as a next no 1 driver. They need a wingman for him, not another title contender and there are many drivers out there they could use.

There's one seat open between Alpine and AT.

Sargent could be going to Williams

...and then Ferrari are wanting to have a chat with Mick in the next couple of weeks too...if Seb took over, he'd have him signed in a heart beat.

I somehow missed that. His puppy face had me thinking he was early twenties. If he joins there'll only be 6 drivers on the grid older than him (Alonso, Hamilton, Perez, Bottas, Magnusson and Sainz)

The Alpine testing finished yesterday. So I wonder if that concludes on who Alpine will be going for. Or if that is what all the teams have been waiting for before starting handing out offers for contracts.

Who were they again?
