I'm sure their sponsors are cringing at the prospect.

Verstappen: Sky F1 boycott in Mexico due to âconstantâ disrespect

Max Verstappen says his boycott of Sky's Formula 1 coverage in Mexico was in response to the "constant" disrespect he has faced this year and he is "not tolerating it anymore."
Over the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, it emerged that Verstappen and the wider Red Bull team were not taking part in any Sky Sports interviews across all its regional channels in the UK, Germany and Italy.
It appeared to come in reaction to a clip from Sky Sports F1's UK coverage of the United States Grand Prix where pit reporter Ted Kravitz used the word "robbed" on multiple occasions when discussing Lewis Hamilton's title defeat to Verstappen in 2021.
Verstappen explained his decision to not talk to Sky after the race, saying: "It had nothing to do this weekend.
"But this year it's been a constant… yeah, kind of like daily being disrespectful, especially one particular person. And it's enough, I don't accept it.
"You can't live in the past. You just have to move on. Social media is a very toxic place, and if you are constantly being like that live on TV, you make it only worse instead of trying to make it better.
"You keep disrespecting me, and at one point, I'm not tolerating it anymore. That's why I decided to stop answering them."
Sky broadcast an interview with Verstappen following his record-breaking 14th victory of the season in Mexico on Sunday, but this was supplied by F1 itself, as it does to all broadcasters.
Red Bull F1 boss Christian Horner explained that the team was "disappointed with a series of derogatory comments that have been made on Sky", prompting the decision to "take a break" this weekend.
"There needs to be balance in commentary," he said. "Some of the commentary is excellent, but some of the pieces, there's too much sensationalisation being done. We stand together as a team."
Horner said the decision was "to register our discontent with some of the less impartial comments that are made or some of the accusations that are sometimes made", but that "service will be resumed" from the next race in Brazil.
"I think an accusation of championships being robbed is something that we don't feel is an impartial commentary," said Horner. "That is, we don't feel, in any way fair or balanced.
"Max was very upset about it, and as a team, we support him fully. We were equally upset about it. As a team, we took the decision this weekend, I took the decision that we'll have a weekend off."
Asked if he thought Red Bull got the same treatment as other teams from broadcasters, Horner replied: "I think Red Bull are a cheap target sometimes."

Don't think so either. Anyone got the data on wins in a season as a percentage of races? Obviously Schumacher's record probably had less races in a season too. Doesn't detract from Max's dominance this season though. That car is damn quick.

How long will the FIA favoritism of Mercedes go? It's been more than 10 years.
Russell takes out the pole sitter and get a 5 sec penalty.
Ricciardo takes out Tsunoda, neither of them even in the points, yet gets a 10sec penalty.
The one time in a decade that someone made a decision not favoring Merc, he got fired quickly.
The (Sky) media should stop sweeping this Merc favoritism under the carpet

Only thing consistent about FIA is their inconsistency.
Sky is terrible and has been for years. They should fire the lot except for Brundle. Hell, fire him to and put Alex there, I find Alex a better commentator.

Max even admitted the number of races won increased as a result of more races during the season. I suspect when they're one day racing 35 races in a season someone's going to win 25.

As much as I'd love more race weekends you really think we're going to see that many?
Bit of a Monday overexxageration, but hell...F1 is run by the Yanks. I wouldn't put it past them to have more and more street races in the USA.

If they are going to commit sensational rule breaches just to see if they can get away with it they can accept the consequences and criticism/ridicule that goes with it

Nothing about favoritism. They are just playing some entertainment game.
Perez's Safety Car penalty and the loose front spoiler are just another example of them not applying the rule equally
The moment I lost all respect for RBR was when the issue of cost cap was brought up and CH talks about catering and wages as if that was the reason.
There's something about being at the top that tends to turn these teams.
