Gene Haas isn't selling any time soon
I wouldn't be so sure.
He has said a few times he is in it to win and that he will walk away if the team is not winning.
Unfortunately I can't find a source for the above but I do think he would be open to offers and it is common knowledge that Andretti is looking for a slot.
I don't think that McLaren will rebrand as Andretti, despite their collaboration in Indy, so Haas is a prime target.

On Friday, the FIA announced a number of measures whereby drivers from Russia and Belarus could continue to participate in sanctioned events, these included denouncing the invasion of Ukraine, not sporting any symbols representing their country or even singing their national anthems.

In a post to social media in response to today's announcement from Haas, Mazepin reveals he was fully prepared to agree to the FIA's terms but Haas wasn't interested.

"I am very disappointed to hear that my F1 contract has been terminated," he wrote. "While I understand the difficulties, the ruling from the FIA plus my ongoing willingness to accept the conditions proposed in order to continue were completely ignored and no process was followed in this unilateral step.

"To those who have tried to understand, my eternal thanks. I have treasured my time in F1 and genuinely hope we can all be together again in the better times. I will have more to say in the coming days."

Of course, losing the Russian driver was one thing as far as Haas was concerned, losing his substantial backing, courtesy of Uralkali, quite another.

Mazepin was never given the seat at Haas on account of his driving prowess.

...log onto Twitter and all you see are Hamilton FanBoois crying about the result last year. I enjoy Twitter and interact with a number of people on there, but damn it's toxic. Certainly his fans.
Cry, move on...it's a new season.

Fittipaldi, who replaced Romain Grosjean in the two final races of the 2020 season following the Frenchman's horrific crash, is the official reserve driver at Haas ad therefore the obvious choice to replace Nikita Mazepin who was dropped at the weekend.

However, looking ahead the American team will need to consider its options especially as the loss of the substantial financial backing Mazepin brought with him will leave a question mark over the team's future.

A number of drivers are said to be under consideration for the seat alongside Mick Schumacher including former Alfa Romeo driver, Antonio Giovinazzi.

"We're in the process of looking at several candidates," Haas tells the Associated Press. "We'll see who is available and what we have to deal with, but we'll have somebody by Wednesday.

"Pietro will definitely be in it, that's what he's for, he's the test driver," he adds.

Referring to the decision to drop Uralkali, Haas admits: "There was a lot of intense criticism about the Ukrainian invasion and it was just getting overwhelming. We can't deal with all that, our other sponsors can't deal with all that.

"Haas has always been the major, primary sponsor," he says of his own machine tool company, "I don't know why people said it became a Russian team. Haas Automation was always on the car.

"We're good. We're fine. We'd like more money, of course, but we're fine," he insists. "This just gives us a bigger negative number."

Wonder how many Persuasion points you get to spend per season…

I lost my access to Supersport

When is the best time to buy F1 TV? Do they normally have a special to start the season?
