"Liberty media's need for entertainment and drama is driving F1 away from tradition and long time fans"
"Can you believe this Miami over the top spectacle?"

Also
"Monaco is a snore fest and should be removed"

Monaco is always boring, and Miami was over the top... and Liberty is pushing away long time fans for the younger generation.

All those statements are true?

I was still young at the time but I would put them at where Renault/McLaren currently is when he joined. The winning combination was Schumi, Brawn and Byrne that changed it into a championship winning car. When all 3 left to a struggling Ferrari, it was no surprise that they replicated it over there...
Much like Hamliton did when he moved to Mercedes. Something Schumi couldn't do.

Ignore the car, consider gap to team-mate in the first two seasons of each.
He consistently beat Mazespin last year. So the benchmark is only this year in a car that has been developed with an actual team mate you could learn off.

So on F1tv. When I watch say the Pre race or qualifying show and it ends. I have to go out to home screen and select the race then. Is there any setting you can change to let it play continuously?
Its a hassle switching back and forth for Pre and post shows before with race and qualifying in between.

No other way. Definitely annoying.....

My routine: Start on DSTV NOW for the Sky buildup. Then, during the last Ad break, switch to F1 TV with Crofty and Martin commentary and wait. During the anthems at the end, switch back to Sky for Post interviews etc.

So I guess I have a similiar routine to manually switching on F1TV

I just listened to Charles' race radio recording. You can hear the poor guy is gutted. His team properly screwed this one up.

There's a section in what sounds like French at the end of the race. Anyone able to translate for us?

They messed up at least a lap before his pitstop. They shouldn't have given RB the opportunity to undercut. He had such a lead, they should have been paying attention to Gasly's pace and brought him in 1-2 laps sooner. The double stack glitch just made it worse.

Okay, I haven't seen this, this looks pretty much deliberate.
The broadcast was a mess. I was somewhat on Hamilton's side when I thought it was that incident on the turn, but this makes his concerns around wing damage a lot more clear. Ocon screwed up.

He says….."we can't do that". Binotto says, in Italian, "I know… come on……now let's concentrate because there are still many races”. And he says, also in Italian……. "yes, ok, but at home, it hurts".

You can hear in his voice he is hurting.

So annoying, especially because the MotoGP app doesn't do that, they flow seamlessly from one stream to another

Monaco needs to be retired as a venue. It's tired, and from a different era of F1. It's a terrible track, the surface is inconsistent, the pit areas are underdeveloped, the barriers on the track are not modular at all, and any crash causes significant delays, as we saw yesterday. There is no real DRS zone potential. It's just a tired old course that's all snazzy because of being in Monaco, but as a racers course, it's dismal. Zero opportunity to pass, or take risks, no shoulders. It's just done.
Pffft. They have an actual marina. Yes they have 1/5th of the overtakes compared to other races but to get poll and win is still a challenge. It has its place and perhaps they could revise the track to allow for more opportunities to overtake.

Isn't the race directory's job to enforce the rules rather than change them?

How is allowing a tire to be on the line more dangerous than requiring the tire to be fully to the right?
Sure. However it is a circus when the only time a race director's notes are questioned is when a team falls foul of them and then are found to be inconsistent by the same organisation that created the notes and regulations in the first place.

FIA management seems to be the first-world's equivalent of BEE
