I'm wondering (and hoping) that this now being a completed project opens the doors to perhaps a Test run/laps around Silverstone before the race?

Can't think of a better event to showcase it.
EV Range 11 Miles  but I suppose that is sufficient to get you to the nearest Petrol Station when you run out.
Just make sure the Petrol stations are less than 100 Miles apart.
Certainly not designed for a CT-JHB run, though it could do it faster than SAA.

So a question to the ones with F1tv
There was all these hype about driver cam, live timings etc, but do you use it.
The first race we were at home, we watched on tv and had the Macbook and Ipad standing in front of us to stream some of the other stuff, but after 20min we just abandoned it, as it was distracting us from watching the race.
So since then I just watch the race without all these other extras. Only thing I will use is when somewhere where I cant watch then I will check live timings on my phone with qualifying.

So do others actually use all those other things?

I watch the driver cam to go back and replay specific incidents.

I use the driver cam quite regularly to go back and check a specific incident. As for the live timing I try not to use it as the TV feed is quite delayed. So you end up seeing a new fastest lap from someone and then more than 30 seconds later you see the lap being completed on the TV. Feels like watching cricket knowing there is a wicket coming in 3 deliveries' time.

I used it the first time because it was... well... new. But then I started irritating myself by switching around too much on the TV, so I got the iPad out. At that point I started feeling as if I'm missing even more of the action elsewhere on the track, so I just gave up and now I am happier.

Well, I'm not donating money to DStv so it's a win for me. I listen to Brundle etc, and my kids like the in-car cameras during qualifying and FP. Sometimes during the race. All good.

I keep the timing up, it's quite amazing how bad the commentators get the overall situation when you know the facts on the times.

I also use it as a driver cam when the race director decides they don't want to follow a mid field battle on the main feed.

Same. Also found having a second screen running was distracting me during a race.

As others have said, I also rewatch specific onboard footage after the race. Example was the pit lane exit drama for the RB's in Monaco. Had fun watching onboards from the RB's and the Ferrari's in a form of self investigation to see what took place.

Then I enjoy Jolyon Palmers post race analysis, the Race in 30 and Radio Rewind

My family hates me before, during and after a race weekend.

Not a bad idea at all!

"... the F1 expert tells his solution: "This is my proposal; before the entrance of the tunnel you turn left a bit earlier instead of right in Portier. The roads there already exist and may need to be slightly modified for F1."

The Briton's idea is to then have the F1 cars drive through to the Beach Plaza Hotel, where a roundabout should then be built so that the drivers can drive 180 degrees the other way again towards the tunnel. With this, Anderson believes that more overtaking manoeuvres are possible. Also, this way two DRS zones can be added on the straights to and from the traffic circle which will lengthen the circuit by about one kilometre.

Anderson has given it extensive thought and says, among other things: "This layout has many positives. Most of the roads already exist, so it will not be very expensive. In addition, the circuit will also be located in a part of Monaco that is not densely populated. [...] The new roundabout can ensure that the new part they are building there is better involved with the old town."

Anderson likes the idea of a traffic circle with the same characteristics as the hairpin: "It could become Monaco's little amphitheater with grandstands in and around the roundabout." The Brit even calls on Liberty Media to invest in a VIP area above the possible grandstands, as they will do in Las Vegas.... "

Agreed, the circuit needs a radical shakeup and that's a sensible start.

Creating artificial overtaking opportunities... Meh. We need more opportunities in slow corners. Far more exciting.

Where they will explain to the Government that The country pays F1 to Host a Race and not the other way round.

Not necessarily the case: anyone can be a promoter for the race, they just have to have the $$$ and pass the vetting process.

Usually the promoter entity is a joint private-public partnership, but I don't think we want gm involvement if there were to be a race here. Other than the traffic department for managing traffic during race weekend, that is.

Alternatively, F1 itself could become the promoter, as it did in Miami and will do in Las Vegas.
