Business and sport. Not the same thing. It's those who see it as the same thing who are destroying sport
It is simple business. Supply an engine, walk away.

You need to Google the definition of a conflict of interest. As I said, if Merc was supplying 3 teams with Merc engines (which they're doing) but have positioned themselves as the only engine manufacturer to make any decisions regarding the composition or direction of engines for the following year, you have a conflict of interest.

Simply supplying engines means nothing, and they're really not destroying the sport.

And F1 is a sport. Now which trumps which?

As for Ferrari supplying Sauber Alfa with the aim of them winning the championship... or Mercedes supplying Aston to guarantee their being crowned champions... nah.
You could argue though that Honda supplied Red Bull with that aim.
Nope, nothing that you said is relevant or makes sense. This has happened for years. Unless you're new to the sport?
Go read the definition, and if you still feel that what's happening is a conflict of interest, then it seems your idea behind it is incorrect.

Moving on.

Now that is another conflict of interest altogether, but I agree. Money and influence vs sportsmanship.
There is a competition aspect of any sport.

There is also a business aspect where you invest in teams/individuals in order to make money through the exposure they provide you. Competitiveness drives investment, nobody wants to back a loser.

The two are linked for pretty much any sport, always has been...

I think he's confused about that, conflict of interest (still doesn't know the definition) and and fairness. Or new to F1.

They will be running the Honda Power Unit but with a Porsche Brand.

Nothing new.

Back in 1996, Petronas and Sauber established an automotive engineering company, with one of the goals being the development of an in-house F1 engine for the Sauber F1 team. As a foundation, they licensed year-old Ferrari components, built engines and badged them as Petronas. They also recruited Ferrari engineers. The plan to build their own engines was ultimately abandoned but they did continue building Ferrari engines under license until BMW bought the team.

Had Sauber Petronas ended up building their own engines, it would've been based on the knowledge of Ferrari's engines, if not directly on their IP. There is also a certainty that BMW would've obtained knowledge of the inner workings of Ferrari's F1 power units because Sauber had been working with them for nearly a decade by the time BMW bought the team.

Sebastian Vettel has just announced he is retiring from F1 at the end of 2022

Honestly this will be a big loss. I was really hoping this year would be better and that AMR would've got a car that would have allowed him to be further up-front. Turns out they forgot that, and he's stuck at the back. Yet still outscoring the owner's son.
What a pity.

I'll be sad to see him go because he's a great dude, a great racer and good for the sport on the whole.

On the other hand, it frees up a seat for young talent and I think that's great.

Fark...AMR need to let Stroll go (but he's dad's son so he's going nowhere). The guy is flat-out useless.
