Ferrari being Ferrari. Again!

That fastest lap point really wasn't worth the risk with Le Clerc almost 100 points behind in the championship.

Max was brilliant. Looking forward to watching the start onboard with Max later as he had A LOT of risks to avoid on lap 1.
Sjoe, Max's lap 1 was fraught with danger. He very nearly lost his front wing a few times and had to squeeze Charles out as well at one stage. Well driven sir!

Just wait next week someone here will tell us RB is now using a flexible strategy. Toto will run to his buddies at the FIA and next month there will be rule changes saying teams may to go beyond a Plan C
During the SkyF1 build up, Toto admitted that they should refrain for asking for new technical directives in future because things didn't quite work out for them....

Most of the other drivers (if not all) wear sponsorship.

In comes Hamilton with a tea cosy on his head crocheted by Granny Sue from Wimbledon (who won the prize to make something for Hamilton for the Belgian GP).

Honestly...it always appears as if it's a case of placing himself above the team.

While everyone was bitching about flexing floors, RB worked on weight reduction on a specialized carbon fiber weave for the floor allowing a quite a significant weight loss.

Red Bull just on another level!

Takes from this weekend:

1. RBR is unstoppable. Verstappen was on another level. Even Checo pulled ahead, but he has some head scratching to do as to how to get close to Verstappen's pace. I do feel #2 in the WDC will be where he ends and has done particularly well this season.
2. Sainz has to be seen as the #1 driver for Ferrari. He has been finishing consistently of late and not making as many mistakes as Le Clerc.
3. Ferrari...well. Yet another cock-up (fastest lap) and then Le Clerc completed the cock-up himself by driving too fast in the pitlane.
4. Hamilton clearly at fault after having admitted it...but Alonso's comments show there's still beef between them no matter how you try marketing it as something else.
5. Sebastian Vettel was clearly wringing the life out of the AMR. Pity he lost 6th. Outdoes Stroll every single race.
6. Russell again consistent.

Looking forward to Zandvoort this weekend. Looks like such a party.

Ferrari engine have three stages of fuel injection. Pre ignition, ignition and post ignition. The post ignition there is no combustion and this is used to cool down the cylinder.
The problem is on long fast tracks there is the possibility to run out of fuel. So they reduced the fuel injected in the third stage and that is what lead to engine failures due to overheating.
So now on these fast long tracks they have to decrease the fuel injected in the first stage, which lead to less power.

So I don't think RB is suddenly much faster. All the Ferrari engines was slow. Shorter tracks they will have full power again. Same reason you see the Haas one track fast and the next track super slow.

Is there a linky that show how this works?
