Yes, true...probably waiting for someone else to do something to point the finger.

Seb would be wondering about that. One minute his Ferrari had newfound performance and the next it was gone with some below the table deal. We will probably find out who really killed JFK before this deal (assuming there's a conspiracy around his assassination!).
So dramatic.

There are 6 races and 1 sprint left which means there's a maximum of 164 points still up for grabs. Charles is 116 points behind meaning Max needs 49 points to secure the championship, so six 6th places will be sufficient to seal no2 for the kid. (ignoring any possible points he could get from the sprint).

Update on this. 5 races and a sprint left, meaning 138 points in the mix. Charles is now 104 points behind so Max needs 34 points to wrap up WDC2022. Two 6th places and three 7ths gets him there (ignoring the sprint again).

Or 1st in Japan . If Charlie is 2nd he needs 1st with fastest lap.

Imagine Verstappen loses his 2021 title to Hamilton based on a budget overspend. It'll wreck F1 for the fans, I mean it's one thing to lose a title in a race like Abu Dhabi, but it's still better than being handed the title almost a year later without the glory and celebration.

Can only hope Red Bull didn't do anything stupid because that will be the end of the driver's championship.

What a bunch of wankers - not sure who yet, either Toto or Horner, definitely Binotto regardless.

Doubt they'll go for a championship penalty, would be disastrous for the F1 reputation.

Likely a mahoosive fine, decreased future cap and wind tunnel testing. And then probably a warning that if it happens again it'll be championship points or disqualification.

I doubt they'd take it away.. major financial and testing sanctions perhaps but they wouldnt go thay far. There is already a cloud over 2021 with some (many) fans without this; they (FIA and Liberty) dont need anymore negative press

As much as I feel Lewis was shafted last year, I agree that no good would come of awarding it to him now. Sever penalties should be applied and perhaps a halt on their development efforts for this year or next, or a cap to their next budget or something might make sense. But rehoming the trophy now would do no good.

I will be surprised if there any big problems. As far as I can tell, this whole rumours started with Toto who have contacts in the FIA which means a serious breach of confidentiality or its just bullshit and means nothing until the FIA makes their final results available this Wednesday I believe. Until then, its really nothing but rumours.

Looking back to the BAR low fuel debacle with the very heavy penalties that were imposed, and given that the teams knew that they would be audited on their expenditure, I can't imagine that any of the teams are stupid enough to have taken a chance...

Only a SAfrican politician can be so blatant and still get away with that level of deceit

Tell me Crofty and Ted, were they also racing at some stage. All the rest of the men sounds like racing drivers.
