What the feck is "BigMaxGate"?

Have you had a stroke?
Well the Hamilton fans started their whining about cheating with the catering budget, So I'm still at BigMaxgate, can't keep up with what they blame/speculate on at this moment.

If it turns out that the discrepancy / breach is indeed the result of Newey's salary not being exempted, would you still consider this cheating?
If they’re over the limit still yes. If he’s not an employee then he’s an expense. The next highest paid employee replaces him and the difference is then calculated.

Budgets are cumulative - it’s just as much the catering budget as it could be attributed to a percentage of any other line item including development.

Hamilton didn't gel with this year's car, and Mercedes didn't run the exact same cars for both drivers. I agree though it's a combination of a great driver/car that gets the wins, but Hamilton is a far better driver period. We don't yet know the extent of the RedBull advantage, especially looking at Max before last season. Hamilton has consistently been the best, to the point of F1 becoming boring for years as it was literally the Hamilton show.
RedBull had a noticeably superior car 2021/2022 and this I think has to do with the floor being more advanced.
And fresh wheels make a world of difference too.

Thread cleanser....

3x late nights coming up this weekend. I'm going to try my best to watch all sessions live and will move the Nespresso machine into the braai room so that the rest of the house doesn't have a sh_tfit because of my midnight coffee pours...

I don't think this has ever happened in cricket. Not the cheating (there are multiple examples) but the whole team being fined or banned?
Not at all, but I was using the same analogy for a team sport to illustrate the point.

If it has never happened before and there have been multiple cases of cheating, then surely that is proof that punishing the team for an individual's error is exactly what doesn't happen.

OK, but you're missing the analogy I am drawing. RBR cheats, Max wins but perhaps doesn't know about it. He gets nailed and then all of the new Twitter F1 fans who started watching the sports in 2021 use this as justification he was a cheat.
So why label the entire team for a single person or a few in the know.

Anyways, it was a simple example in another sports with no intention to derail the thread. Just offer some additional thinking.

Well you can spin it as you like. The evidence is on this thread for the last 10 months of butthurt sad individuals crying permanently.
I don't see any other than Hamilton fans that want Max stripped of the 2021 crown.
Going over budget would have way more advantage for the 2022 championship. Why does these individuals not then call for Max to be stripped of the 2022 title rather?
And most importantly, I did not make it about Hamilton, but about his fans

On a thing that has nothing to do with them. It's about a team going over the cost cap. Please try to stay on topic.
Nope when the FIA released their findings and penalties for Spygate, we trusted everything and know that nothing was swept under the carpet.
For BigMaxgate we don't trust the FIA, they will sweep everything under the carpet.
What about, what about

Fck me, I looked at the times this morning, I'm not a middle of the night person but I also don't want to miss any action.

Plus I love watching the F1 beer in hand, that's not really going to work at that hour.

It's how you manipulate the situation to suit your needs that counts. Print out a picture of the sun, stick it somewhere and turn all the lights on.
Problem solved...(subscribe for more helpful hints).

F that, that's the best time to watch. No wife and kid around to distract and annoy...

At that time of night it is Irish Coffee and/or Hot Chocolate with Brandy  :)
