Look I am a Ferrari fan but I don't think Verstappen get the praise he deserves sometimes.
Yes RB is probably the fastest car, but take Verstappen out and it would be close racing between Perez and the Ferraris and AM.
But Verstappen's brilliance let him pull away to a 15s gap quickly and then just idle and nurse the car and tires through the rest of the race.
Fully agree with your comments. I am also a Ferrari (Charles) fan, but Max's talent puts the RBR in a defferent class. We have seen last year that wwhile Max dominated, Perez competed with the Ferraris

You obviously a new F1 Merc fan and don't understand F1 and more important Ferrari. Binotto was not fired because of unreliable cars that broke down.
Remember all the clown memes of Ferrari? All the bad press they got from their strategies? He was fired because he made the team look like fools, because he could not lead the staff and drivers properly to make correct calls and strategies.
You keep making assumptions. I'm a Mclaren fan actually. Binotto was held accountable and that's all and far too soon imho. Strategies can be fixed far more easily especially if you know the basis for the poor calls.

Ferrari will be lucky to get 3rd this year - probably 4th. I'll say it again - firing Binotto was a misstep.

Too early to say. Binotto stuffed up race strategy too many times and if he did not, Leclerc would have been a lot closer to Max in the title race.

Yes strategies can be fixed easily, you fire the person that can't do his job after several blunders. So in this case that did not happen, so you fire the person who did not fire the underperforming workers.
The Ceo/ Boss or team manager/principle does not develop the car, engine or work out strategies. He is there the control and look over everyone he employed to do all the jobs.
That is his job and if he does not sort problems out, fire people and in his case even denied that they made wrong decisions, then obviously he can't do the job.

If they didn't have the car the strategy would've been irrelevant. But sure, Ferrari's worries are over with Binotto gone :sneaky:

Doesn't change the fact that they fired the guy who after 3 years delivered them the best result in over a decade...

Fair comment about Max's talent - he's good: period. Perez will end up like Bottas or Webber as a sidekick unfortunately.

Better double that Copium amount..

2022 - Red Bulls = fuel pickup issue, engines bulletproof
2023 - Ferrari engine doing 2022 things again
It was the energy store and control unit that failed. Same that was replaced just before the race. He might even get grid penalty next race.
That said, it has nothing to do with last years engine failures as I understand it

Fair enough, thanks for the updated info. Still not good.

I studied Charles' face yesterday after his DNF and in the interviews. It's like he knows last year was the year he had the best chance of winning the championship but the team basically robbed him. I feel for the lad.

Other Teams Should Just Learn To Say No!

On a more serious note. Can't we just have HONDA big and bold back on the rear wing? Given that now again Red Bull is known as Red Bull Honda RBPT

"... when Leclerc's car was disassembled and checked, the fault was found in the ERS-battery pack. These two drives will not be recoverable. Probably replacing the control unit and the ES (energy store) before the start didn't prevent the problems 100%. Indeed a failure that did not occur was abnormal, something that would not have to do with the different failure episodes of 2022. ..."

One semi good drive doesn't make a good driver, and let's not forget that he almost took his team mate out.
Not talking about a semi-good drive. I'm talking about the guys hating on him because he shouldn't be driving with busted hands / is costing his team points / should step aside for Drugovich what-what and he ended up having a pretty decent race. Of course crickets from everyone who was having a go at him pre-race.

Yeah he had a decent drive all things considered. Alonso gave him a lot of praise for that.

Man Alonso was beaming on that podium. He's looking forward to this season and thinks AM can improve further. Ferrari should be worried; RB will be watching their mirrors for that glint of green.

That said RB have had a dream start to the season, their car looks mighty strong. But we will see how the competition develops over the season. Maybe Merc can fix their car, Ferrari can make things more reliable, AM adds even more speed? Or maybe it's just plain RB domination winning every race? Time will tell.

So Alonso says he wants one more title and could race for five more years. I really doubt any of the top teams will consider him due to age but he could stay at a mid-table team until then.

That man is an age exception. The way he battled on Sunday, will put most of the grid to shame. But I agree with you, sadly.
