Yay, the sprint made Baku do much more interest...zzzzzZZZZZZZZ

What an awfully boring track, like every year. It's only good for crashes.

True, and the moneymen have now arranged for the snore fest to go on until at least 2026.

Are teams allowed to not take part in sprint races or are the obligated?

I mean you are competing for the top 8 spots, so the top 3 teams takes most of them and then there are 2 spots left. So why would the Williams and Alfas of this world bother with this? They risk engines wear, costs for damage repairs etc. with essentially nothing to gain

Also it's too much - now I have to watch F1 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in an already ridiculous calendar (half the weekends this year).

****ing stupid, I want F1 pre-Liberty back.

You channeling your inner Max?

Indeed. I don't get the sprints especially now that they have no impact on the main race. All they'll do is widen the gap between the top teams and the rest even more and give us a preview of what will happen in the main race bar incidents.

Imagine the day the championship is decided/won during a sprint on a Saturday afternoon.

F1 is pretty stupid right now. From max behaving like a footballer to carlos not able to articulate the format changes to that squealing croft cnt

Thats ok. Will give it a skip

Question still stands: are teams obligated to partake in the sprints?

I think so, I'm sure there is something in the agreements that state they must race unless driver or car is incapacitated
