Mercedes launch happening at 11:15 our time

I see they stuck with no side pods, wanted to see their car to see what they would have done. Interesting. Car looks great though. The black is great.

I still wonder if they trying to save face but not adopting the side pods which are working for the other teams.

Changing later if they find they are not competitive would be more embarrassing then changing it now, new year new start.

Nah, I don't think they'd be that petty. They want to win, they wouldn't jeopardize that for stubbornness. Looking at last year, they made quite good progress toward the end of the season, so it seems they have a better understanding of it and how to make it work.

Let's hope they made good progress on the off-season and start competitively.

The other thing is the launch car may not resemble the car that takes the track when the season starts.

They changing to side pods after Bahrein

According Toto, the w14 will have revised sidepods within the first races, but he says they will at least be racing Bahrain with the launch spec.

This is the car they will test and race on the whole, according to him. They regret wasting the Barcelona test because they didn't use their race package there

Racing with spec A sidepods is potentially related to the delays/ late design changes that have been rumoured recently.

All the fuss about Russel dodging questions about porpoising when they cant even go fast enough during this shakedowns to actually know... clickbait at its finest.

The W14 is a cross between Ferrari and Red Bull, but last year’s sidepod concept remains
