Which team will take constructors in 2023?

I wonder if American drivers get uppity about these European (specifically F1) drivers who come over and race in 'their' series when it is so difficult for them (Americans) to go and race there.

And usually its drivers who were kinda meh in F1 absolutely cleanup at IndyCar or NASCAR.

Ex F1 World Champions would do pretty well, I'd imagine.

Speaking to Total Motorsport, Ferrari's 1979 champion Scheckter said:
“I was an inside part of it, my nephew worked on it for six years. It was that close. The guy from Kyalami went from 500,000 to 2 million, and he wanted to take the whole thing over.
F1 came over to sign. He had got government backing, some of the wealthiest people in South Africa behind it. Everything was in place, and the guy from Kyalami got greedy.

Just as soon as F1 left, he changed the whole thing completely. The government realised there was a fight [going on] and withdrew, and that was the end. Maybe it’ll happen back here again. I don’t know.”

“My nephew had been working on it for six years, nearly full-time,” added Scheckter.

“Because going [through the] government and getting [their support] and for them all to agree to put some budget in and then to secure the money. It takes a massive amount [of effort].

“All of a sudden, it was over, and he was left with nothing.”

F1 rumours: Laurent Mekies part of Ferrari exodus? Leclerc meets Ferrari president

The times are changing at Ferrari with a host of key staff said to be heading out the door or have departed already.

Charles Leclerc reportedly met with Ferrari president John Elkann following a troublesome F1 2023 season-opener in Bahrain, while a host of staff, including Laurent Mekies, appear to be heading for the exit door.

After last season’s title challenge did not go to plan for Ferrari, the team returned to the drawing board for F1 2023 and came up with the SF-23 as they looked to take a fresh crack at reaching the Formula 1 summit for the first time since 2008.

Reliability, strategic errors and ultimately a lack of pace cost Ferrari in 2022 as Red Bull strolled to a title double, and one of the main changes over the winter at Maranello was a new team boss as Fred Vasseur made the move from Alfa Romeo, following Mattia Binotto’s resignation.

I'll say it again, 3rd at best and most likely 4th for constructors this year for Ferrari. I'll happily be wrong but don't think so.
 
LOL Merc fanboys discussing Ferrari issues rather than Alonso's ridiculous move past Hamilton. Or why you not discussing why Merc have done absolutely nothing in more than a year to improve their car? Only thing they did was cheated and got rule changes, but even that only made them look half bad.
Or the undercover Merc/Mclaren fans could also discuss how bad Mclaren is and seems to be going backwards. Seems there is more clowns present at Merc and Mclaren than Ferrari?

Any long term F1 fan would love nothing more than Alonso win another championship. As for Mclaren - well they don't inspire confidence at all and rather disappointing start tbh and Ricciardo could've as easily have finished his contract in the car if they're not competitive this year. Mercedes will get its car together eventually - the question is when.

You'll figure out sooner or later that people who have been watching F1 for years aren't polarised like you. We do hate it though when the sport chooses entertainment over sporting and aren't consistent in how rules and regulations are applied especially.

This is on you, I've added that fool to ignore long ago, he hasn't posted anything of worth in a long time. And the more you respond to his brainless drivel the more he will spout.
 
The first race of the season was hardly over and to me it seems like the writing is on the wall. In the past, teams like Merc and Ferrari could afford to throw money into car development during the season and probably drag themselves back into contention in the space of a few races.

With the current regulations, if you back the wrong design, your season is most likely done for. It seems the window to maximise performance within the regulations is narrow and you don't get many bites at that cherry.

Maybe this is why we are seeing radical staff changes at some teams as they try to find a fresh take on car design?
