On the weekend I had lunch with an extended family member who is quite high up in one of the midfield F1 teams. Apparently Aston's recent performance gain made the midfield look like idiots since for years they've been telling shareholders and whatnot that the top teams are unreachable. Aston has now proven them wrong.
It's quite funny.

Is it a money thing? They also got a load of new hires from RB and Merc - something the other mid runners arent able to do

Well the budget caps hit them really hard apparently. They're forced to be really picky even over things like redesigning cables and wiring looms, because of cost, nevermind big things like aero.

You know people at Ferarri, you should get us some inside info.

On Aston's performance, wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being a catfight between Horner and Otmar...

The potential for harm is there, because of the OTT way some pit staff climb right to the top, can you imagine if one of these idiots right at the top falls in front of the approaching cars?

How long has this been happening in all forms of racing? How many times has someone stubbed a toe?

Well it stands to reason when you hire the top teams engineers. This is an engineering sport after all

Jules Bianchi's family would disagree.
I think the two are not one in the same. Safety should be at the forefront but they should perhaps rather cater for a facility for such display of celebration rather than outlawing something that to date at least hasn't had any incidents...

They’re damned either way, if one of those fence panels was to fail and fall causing deaths or injuries you could guarantee compensation cases would follow.

Stacking 3 or 4 high like they are doing is taking the piss and probably what has caused the rule to be enforced (it’s not a new rule).

I understand the reasoning - next the podiums will require fencing too and glass to avoid champagne in the eyes of a driver whose eyes are worth millions... Where does it end.

The gap between Stroll and Alonso this season will determine Stroll's future. The Alonso "Stroll is WDC material" comment at the start of the season, adds some spice.

Bottas is so cool since leaving THAT toxic team, hie hie
