The Real Qualifying and Race are now separated by 36 hours or so just to suit a gimmick event intended only to boost FoM (F1.com) profit at the expense of the sport.
The points count towards the championships so it's not useless. Last year it was useless...And that is why I don't like it.

Well, mentally, I have the satisfaction of watching track action with a result earlier this afternoon and then further excitement for a full race tomorrow afternoon. Seems like improved sports viewing value to/for me...And that is why I don't like it.
