The greatest driver of all time ever got black and white flags and that didn't stop him from exceeding anymore track limits, so no.
 
I don’t understand the problem. Not one of the great drivers on the grid got a single penalty.
The whiners who gets manipulated and intimidated, got several.
So its more a talent issue. They tried to look faster than they are by exceeding track limits.
Keep penalizing them then they will learn to stay inside track limits like the good drivers who did not seem to have a problem
 
So basically the black and white flag is moot now. Fair is fair as far as rules go but warnings are still part of the procedure. FIA failure, again.

Stewards were probably not eyeballing those guys.

Not only that, but drivers getting penalties would change the way everyone around and including them drives to compensate.

I have no issue with the application of the rules but I’m pointing out the enforcement isn’t consistent in the procedure to be followed for such enforcement. Warn, flag, penalty. FIA’s own making.

Wake up and smell the cheese last year already. Proper planning... Not wake up on race day and go "oh look!"... Then apply the rules way liberally.

And if he was told to take those penalties during the race... How many seconds would they actually have cost (including pitting for each one)?

How were stewards ever going to scrutinize 17 incidents per lap?

He got penalised for repeatedly leaving the track. It's clearly set out in the documents posted above. And geesh guy, how new are you to F1? Drivers don't need to stop to serve penalties - they're simply added at the end of the race.

I haven't checked, but from memory all those who received post-race penalties had black and white flags during the race too.

I agree with you here. Drivers like Max and Charles made sure they stayed inside the racing lines the entire time. After the quali madness with time deletions some of the guys made adjustments for the race. Why couldn't LH, Sainz, Ocon etc make those adjustments?

The amount of whining from Lewis was really off putting. You are a 7 time champion, deal with it and move on.
 
Aston Martin raising the bar - don't whine about a single driver during the race, protest the entire grid afterwards :ROFL:

Build a barrier then. Or make ridges on the border.

Gravel doesn't get dragged onto the track on tracks where it's there, the drivers will just keep within the tarmac instead of trying to act like a policeman to everyone else...
