Yes some cars do better on some type of tracks, so don't think AM is suddenly bad and Mclaren are good.
Also Merc was nowhere, just lucky with safety car and other making bad or unlucky stops.
So
With all the upgrades, Merc is still bad and Russel is still faster than the Sir
Ferrari is still clowns in the strategy department and Sainz is still their biggest clown
Verstappen still shows that he is the best driver by a mile on the grid as his teammate in same car is nowhere.
Half the members on this thread have no clue how F1 works as they think cars just magically goes faster and other slower and that the type oof track has no influence.

How the hell does Ferrari not know that when a car is on fire their will be a full safety car, even if they called virtual safety first, marshals will have to come on the track with fire extinguishers. Most of the other teams knew that, but it looks like its Ferrari's first f1 season.

Unsurprising. Banter != constant denigration and trolling.

It's a forum, for discussion. Not Reddit or your private Whatsapp group. And before anyone asks, no, I didn't report any posts. I think some people are just intelligent enough to realize that inane denigrations ruin the thread for all involved.

Moving on. The Lewis/Nico season was quite a thing to watch. The way this season is going though, I could see Max getting another 10 wins. Hard to imagine anyone beating that record in the future.

Agree, Max is on fire this season, and his car.
It will come down to car reliability

I suspect the pit wall crew were on a coffee break. Honestly it's literally every single race where they screw things up.
Just please don't intimidate Sainz on the forums...

AMR said that this track won't suit their car and it's obvious when Alonso isn't saying a lot about racing there like he did at other tracks. Merc are still a customer team (it's a joke people!) with AMR still in front of them but only being carried by Alonso. Stroll is useless.
While it's commendable that Merc are targeting RBR, they need to be targeting AMR first while keepin an eye behind them with McLaren entering that fight as well. Ferrari should just give up on the year and focus on next year's car. I suspect they'd done that last year as well, but that pit wall crew and the strategists need to get a kick in the pants!

He could have a reliability issue or something somewhere, but yeah, Adrian Newey has outdone himself for sure with the ground effect era Redbull.

It's going to be interesting to see the relative performances at different tracks. Merc struggle with rear grip so the slower, tighter tracks aren't going to be good for them. The McLaren is fast but apparently a little heavy on tires so on slower tracks we might see them struggling a bit.

I reckon in terms of overall pace it's currently RBR, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Merc.

There's no need to even risk a turn 1 incident. He can just DRS past them again like he did with Lando. The only thing stopping him is reliability...
I was thinking more of a Stroll or Bottas scenario where some shitbox sends it up the inside at 100km/h and takes people out, or the inside car out-braking themselves and sliding into him. It's sort of come down to whether or not he makes it through turn 1. If he does, it's a race for second.

They need time to check…

Which so far this season looks like it shouldn't be a problem, unlike the first half of 2022.

Max could definitely win every race going forward. I still think this is not likely, but hey we are in a season of breaking records so why the hell not.

No matter what Horner says after each race, I am almost 100% sure him and Marko are already discussing Perez's replacement behind closed doors. 5th flipping quali in a row.. just not good enough in that car.

Yea that's the only way I see him not winning. Reliability or perhaps a Turn 1 incident or something.

We can only hope. That would make for one hell of an exciting race as you can be sure the other drivers would drive the crap out of their cars for a chance to win then.

How many races are left?
If he did win every race with the fastest lap how many points would he finish 2023 on?

I see he currently holds the record for the most points in a season with 454 last year.

EDIT: My calculator says 541 points

Who would they replace him with? Nobody else worth anything is going to want to play second fiddle. Only option is possibly Albon again, but it will always be in their minds that they tried him and it didn't work. The Alpha Tauri drivers haven't done enough to warrant a promotion either...

It ishould have happened Sunday. It would have made for one helluva moment seeing two British boys race for the win.

Like Lando says "Max ruins everything"
