No no. Group 1 runs, then group 2 runs. Bottom 4 times of the total get the boot. Problem with that is track evolution. The second group will always be faster. Or, it starts to rain and group 2 cannot come close to matching time for group 1, which would be unfair. Although, that's still fair in that it's determined to be that way before the weekend begins, so it's just bad luck at that point.
Got it. And agree. Track evolution means major advantage to one side almost always.

Then send them out on that basis of current championship points so that the first batch are Max, LH, FA etc.
Then the lower field get the advantage of track evolution.
That should mix things up a bit with the occasional tail ender getting out of Q3 and a couple of front runners failing to make Q2.

Just add a Q4 and extend qualifying by a few minutes. There'll be no complaints about who gets advantage and who doesn't...

Tracks don't evolve for the better every time.

Well, the rule changes this weekend should see less surprises on the grid.

Teams will be able to carry over used sets from one practice session to the next, returning only one from each session. In qualifying, each driver will have available to him, only two sets of Hard in Q1, two sets of Medium in Q2, and two sets of Soft in Q3

I never realised thast Openmhimer had Pink Hair, I have only seen B&W Shots from the 40's

The 2013 Rush movie highlighted Lauda’s acute sensitivity to the behaviour of both road and racing cars, and Tsunoda revealed that de Vries’s comments carried a similar level of detail.
“Especially the feedback after the session,” he said when asked about de Vries’s feedback. “Like to the team, how the car behaves, it's really specific.
"I never seen a driver like that, he is saying really specific [things], describing each detail, which are easy to understand. And yeah, it's really specific.
“And I can tell like why he had such successful results in the past. It's those places, which was probably a bit of limitation for me, that I have to go a step forward.
"And probably Nyck was a really good example and good reference on what I have to do, so yeah, especially those places.”
Asked to elaborate on how much detail de Vries used to describe the car, he said: “How the car behaves through the corner, he starts from like braking, late entry, mid-corner exit.
“Obviously, I'm saying that each part of the corners, how the car behaves, but he's a little bit more like he says the limitation, but also he suggests the kind of options to solve those issues. Also for future development.

Hamilton, who worked with de Vries when he was a Mercedes reserve driver in 2021 and 2022, made it clear that he felt the move to replace him before the summer break was premature.
Asked if he felt that de Vries was dropped too early, Hamilton said: “Yes. But that's how Red Bull do it.”
Pushed on whether there was an aspect of it being how F1 works, in being tough on rookies, Hamilton added: “You can say that's how Red Bull works.”
While Hamilton felt that Red Bull's move had been hasty, he maintained faith that de Vries' racing career was far from over despite the setback.
“I was definitely surprised to see the decision for poor Nyck,” said Hamilton.
“He's such a talented young man, and such a nice guy as well. I think the future is still bright for him and he will have lots of great options for the future.”

De Vries is the latest driver who has been the victim of a mid-season driver shuffle at Red Bull, although these have typically revolved around the energy drink company’s main team.

In recent years, Daniil Kvyat lost his Red Bull seat in a swap with Max Verstappen in 2016, while Pierre Gasly was swapped for Alex Albon in 2019.
Albon lasted until the end of the 2020 season and moved into a third driver role with Red Bull before making a successful racing return with Williams in 2022.

Max sticking it too sky sports commentator W'anchors, love it..

I wonder if Crofty and Kravitz behind the scenes are still good mates or if there could be a bit of animosity between them?

Considering the two pricks were the first to submit their CV's in for Lewis personal assistant position when Angela departed.

Croft is more of a Max fanboy, you should listen to his race commentary a bit more often, whrighty.
