Who could have predicted that grid. Where did the Alfas come from. Still think it is Max's race tomorrow.

Good to see a clear distinction between the times for the hards, mediums and softs. Was beginning to think its just a toss up.

Certainly unpredictable.

New Format for Quali next week.

Drivers assemble on the grid, cars remain in garage to save on carbon points.
Each driver takes one card.
If a driver draws a Joker he take the highest card dealt so far, the holder of that card has had his lap time deleted retrospectively and must draw another card.
Grid is then decided by order of cards.

At the beginning I thought that you were proposing the old Le Man's style start of drivers running to their parked cars.

This. Lewis said he threw everything at turn 4 where he was losing time - and hoped for the best. I doubt he can sustain that for the whole race.

Agreed - I just think RB were hiding their performance - today is going to be "just another Max win" and I'm almost tempted to not watch again. It's gotten so boring lately. I want close races, i want different winners, anyone, hell, give stroll a win! haha.

Lets not forget that we had some of the greatest racing at the front last year. Then that spineless Merc team went and complain because of their useless car they build, and then we had RB off in the distance after rule changes and car height increases.
So we can than Merc for this boring races

Thoughts on the F1 team overall?
Most interesting for me has to be Sam, I always enjoy his segments and input. Second is probably Danica. Her contributions are unmatched.

Think it's been mentioned, but pretty much everyone after Walker/Hunt is shite. Now they've tossed a bunch of kids in there. Suppose Brundle is the pick of the lot.

Who would you have then? There is a lot of hankering for the “good old days of f1” here, ignoring the fact that as the world and markets change so too must the sport to remain relevant

Personally I think that Alex Brundle does a better job of commentary and interviewing in F2 than his father does in F1. As for the rest I still like Ted Kravit's, Paul di Resta and Anthony Davidson and I think that Danica is the only good thing the Americans have brought into F1.

We will never get Murry Walker or "The Chain" back but I do wish they would stop playing with the damn format.

Suppose you're right. There are some among us who are old enough to not have gained our knowledge of F1 from a documentary series. Heard lots about it, but not bothered with watching any. Seems like everyone is now an expert.

The sport's changed a hell of a lot, not all for the good.

Not Croft, he's useless, makes too many basic mistakes and often misses what's happening on track.

For me Brundle is the voice of F1 after Murray. It's a personal choice because I grew up listening to the two of them together...

For the "Drive to Survive" Generation of fans, this is "The Chain"
