Certainly not, and not what I'm referring to. The serious fans will sit through pretty much anything to see the conclusion of a race. We watch developments in anticipation.

Fringe watchers tune out if they have to watch a bunch of drivers with sippy-cups sitting in the pit lane, and are told there will be a ten minute warning to restart. Many of them won't be back.

Agreed. This whole waiting around for weather to change is bad for TV which is where they're generating the most money from. Safety has to be maintained to some standard but it's a dangerous sport and that's why the drivers get paid so much to do what they do so if we lose one (and I know this makes me sound insensitive), there's many more available to fill those race seats.

I actually saw this video last night which reminded me of how exciting wet races were in the past. Remember spare cars? Forgot those were a thing back in the day :P

It wasn't Mercedes fault that they nailed the regulations in 2014 and neither is it Red Bull's fault they nailed the regulations in 2022. Plus Max is on another level as well, if Red Bull has 2 Perez's then things would have been different.

Exactly.This more than evident from this thread at times. It's also the doccy watchers who expect a thrill a second from Sundays. I reckon they'll become pretty disillusioned when they see red flags with every bit of drizzle.
 
The problem they have is that they always introduce a rule change that comes into effect just when the current ones start working. Then one team will have a far superior interpretation on their package leaving the other teams to play catch up for years and so the cycle continues when FIA will change the rules to address the balance once more. I like the cost cap and allowing the bottom teams to develop more. I think that's why RB are getting the alpha tauri's to be more inline with their package so that they can use that development to 'test' out the radical ideas to keep max on top.

It's unfortunately the world we live in. The immediacy of anything and everything means that if you don't keep the eyeballs on your product they've already moved on.

On a different note, what is your opinion on the anthems at the end of the race? I feel that that's pointless. They should allow drivers to come out to their songs like WWE wrestlers to change the podium celebrations a bit.

Sorry I absolutely disagree, I would rather have the race abandoned than have a driver lose his life.

Coulthard still comes across as a bit of a ****. That was definitely his fault.

Not saying I want any drivers to lose their lives but it's the risk of the job. Hence the qualification in my post. Imagine professional boxing requiring fighters to wear helmets to protect themselves.

Yeah. He does and I thought so at the time when I saw the race but many people have confirmed he was overly cautious and often calling for a safety car whilst the rain master schumi was driving around like he was on slicks!
