Agreed, I don't think anyone catches them until 2026. Maybe a win here or there but not a serious challenge for the title. The car is miles ahead and Max is driving brilliantly at the moment. Potent combination.

Do you think he'd switch teams? I can't see it. The only way I could see it possibly happening is a move back to McLaren, but I doubt it, not with his history with Merc.
Probably more carrot and stick approch to incentivise the team.
Sign up for 2 years but with the option to leave if Merc are not going to have the car he wants.
But I agree he will probably stay with Merc or walk away entirely.
But, a year in the second Red Bull could be a mouth watering clash of talent, if Horner had the Stones required to manage the clash.

I don't know hey they were putting on a stellar show for the rest of it, no need to take each other out in the last 3-5 laps.
What was very missing from the racing is that you pretty much got no coverage beyond P10 the entire race.

I see there is a few people on this thread that does not acknowledge the greatness of the Dutch driver.

LH has seen a competative car fall away due to regulation changes (2009) carried on though RB dominance (Seb era) and came back with a dominant car after the regulation changes.
for him a few years behind a Red bull is just time to improve himself so when he has a competitive car again he will be unstoppable.
I do believe the Merc, McLaren and Aston will all be truly competitive with the RedBull next year. who knows maybe the Clowns in red can also be competitive. then we can have another year like 2012 when even though Seb won it was a close fought season.
if that happens and its a close fight I see LH staying for another 2 years with the aim of taking number 8 and then playing rear gunner for George and retiring the year after.
will that happen with Mclaren making a massive push with 2 fantastic drivers? will the clowns in red sort themselves out and give their drivers a real shot? only time will tell.
the real question that we all want to know is, between alonso and LH both have the oppertunity to break the 300 Curse. no driver has ever won a race after their 300th race start, who will be the first to break that? will it be broken?

Hamilton won't win an 8th. His domination is over.
But his determination and drive isn't.

If only AMR had a driver HALF as capable as Alonso they'd be in 2nd in the Constructors. Instead, they're 4th with Alonso contributing nearly 79% of their Constructors points.
Stroll really needs to make a tough decision here and get rid of his son. If Schumacher is looking for a team, slot him in there for 2 years and see what he does.

Perez is an average driver who came to RB with a single F1 win and has amassed more points in the last 2.5 seasons as he did in the 10 seasons prior to RB. You’re not making the point you think you are.

Strulovich is there purely because his dad owns the team, any other team and he would've been kicked to the curb long ago.
Sadly that doesn't look like it's changing any time soon.
Absolutely agree...it's a pity that what is now pure nepotism has got in the way of the team securing 2nd place and getting a larger slice of the revenue pie.
I might be mistaken, but don't they also get a bit more research time allocated to them as well?

The further down you finish, the more wind tunnel time you get. I guess the unexpected benefit of Stroll's lack of points contribution is that if AMR stay behind Merc and Ferrari, they will get more time to develop their 2024 car. Swings and roundabouts. Finishing higher up the order this year is purely about bragging rights for AMR. They don't need prize money when Lord Stroll is pumping his millions in.

As much as Stroll is in his seat because of his father let's not forget that in 2020 despite Perez qualifying 10 times ahead of Stroll they ended the season on par with each other in terms of finishing ahead of each other (4/4). Stroll led more laps however Perez still took 3/5ths of the points due to the Sakhir win.
There may be better drivers for that seat but he's not exactly Mazepin.
I do agree that if they had a better driver in that seat they'd be doing much better in the constructors.
That was at a time when the car was crap. The car clearly has pace, or Alonso is simply showing his class. Probably both.
Instead you have a pay-driver doing literally nothing in the car but earning a salary. If Stroll Sr. was serious about moving that team up, he'd need to replace his son.
