I'm not going to answer the first question. As with the previous post, you being selective again. Let me just add another bit from the quoted link ...

The context of the discussion was whether he deserved the seat this year since Alonso is in the picture and AM are/were within sight of a decent constructors performance potentially 2nd or 3rd.

As mentioned above, friends in the right places. He's in charge of the driver program, whatever that means. Which means he's directly responsible for creating a toxic environment for anyone who isn't Max. And right now everyone knows that taking up that second seat means killing your career, so there's no way he's getting someone like Lando while Max is still there...
 
The scales are beginning to fall off the eyes of even the most die hard Lewis/Merc fanboois as they awaken to the "special"ness of Max and the toxicity at Merc.

Does Max have the fastest car by a country mile? Yes

Does Max have 1 WC thanks to one of the most contraversial races / decisions in the sport by the FIA? Yes.

Max will always be "that guy" unless you're a Max lover. I had other hopes for him. Sadly that never materialized.
