I see that now on the scrutineering document. The teams will have to do a better job at pre-race inspection. Since both Ferrari and Mercedes had wear in the same location their explanation seems reasonable but still a contravention regardless.
It is fine blaming the teams but what about the organizers.
All of the time that used to be spent on setup and pre race inspection is now taken up by the sprint race.
If the sprint race has to be retained then make Friday a Sprint race, and treat it as a separate event, then hold F1 on the Saturday and Sunday. That way the teams get back the ability to make changes, rather than spending the entire weekend in Parc fermé conditions after a one hour practice window.
The Current format is just serving to dilute the importance of the F1 Main race and adding nothing to the sport apart from increased profit for FoM.

Imagine if there were a few more laps and Hamilton managed to overtake Verstappen for the win to then be DQ....

Costly mistake from Mercedes, but I still think Perez is crap enough for Hamilton to snatch away 2nd in the championship from him.

Decent race. A bad qualy for Max made some great racing for us on Sunday.

Now, the way I remember 2022, Merc kept complaining about the bouncing. The minimum ride heights were raised and the skid block wear rules were tightened up. Merc said it was going to hurt Red Bull. It didn't. 2023 Texas came a knocking and "Hambone"* paid the ultimate Karma price....

As already mentioned, I cannot wait for Mr Mowhawk's YT video......

Verstappen was managing the gap and did what he had too. Hamilton would never have passed him, even if there was 10 more laps.

But of a crappy way for the weekend to end. I wander what happened that caused this issue this weekend. Obviously the cars ran too low, but it's not an issue you see very often, and now two cars on the same weekend. I guess they just underestimated the bumps?

They now have one Hour to perform the work that used have all day Friday and then Saturday morning to do.
It particularly hurt this weekend because they also had to fit and test upgrades in that time window.

They had 1 hour on Friday to test the upgrades, Test the car and track, then Setup the car befor spending the rest of the weekend in Parc fermé.

Yea good point.

I really hope they change the Sprint Race setup. I don't mind them, it's lekker to have everyone just race, no strategies or anything to worry about. But it's essentially just a spoiler for the main race. Watch the sprint and you more or less know what's going to happen on Sunday. Not sure what the alternative is. Maybe a reverse grid sprint, but that's risky for the front teams.

Its actually piss poor form on the part of F1 management really.

I kind of like the Sprint race tbh, but it does impact the whole race weekend in some negative ways which needs to be worked on somehow.

Same, I enjoy it. I just don't think it's the best implementation at the moment.

I really like the sprints, but cutting all the practice isn't good.

What about
- FP1, FP2
- Quali for sprint
- Sprint
- Sunday race uses Sprint result for grid positions?

I don't like this. It essentially means the lower teams will never get a chance to start higher up and the stronger teams will just consolidate points. Maybe the top 10 have to use a harder compound than the bottom 10. I don't know.

This is what the sprint used to be for but it was changed when teams weren't willing to risk a crash or damage to the car for the sake of one or two positions. That's why the sprint is a race on it's own now with just points on offer.

Reverse order GP start from sprint finish.

Seeing as there is a three hour gap between the sprint shootout and the sprint race, both of which are short events, My Time table would be:
Fri: Practice one, Sprint Shootout, Sprint race.
Parc fermé closed after Practice one, reopens after sprint race.
Sat: Practice Two, Practice Three. Parc fermé Closed again.
Sun: Quali, Race
Alternatively Quali could be in place of Practice three provided Parc fermé is lifted for teams to make changes after any info gained from the sprint race.
It has the added benefit of being able to run seperate setups for sprint and main race events.

Can't say that I disagree with you at all.

Reverse Grid races are great for the Junior formulas as it gives the leaders a chance to practice attacking and the lower positions a chance to practice defending. By the time they graduate to F1 all of the drivers are competent in both attack and defence so reveres grid is a futile exercise.
