I'm sure the Merc people must be extremely annoyed and surprised. They obviously got the setup extremely wrong, hopefully they can figure out what went wrong and fix it. LV should be cooler so that should help a lot of the teams with cooling and tyre deg. Let's hope the track turns out to be vaguely interesting.

Even if it was used softs, at least it would have meant that Max would have had to over take him. Could have been a very interesting last 5 laps for the lead as well. I feel like they are just playing safe atm, they really could have tried to undercut Max and let him push a bit.

As Bernie Collins pointed out, the race was all about deg. Undercut was powerful but deg would shaft you later if you did one.

TL;DR

Will probably be thrown out because of no new evidence and/or the fact that the track camera's were not properly focused and therefore exact determination of track limits at the corner in question is impossible using onboard video only.

Looks like they're trying to get a point for Nico in 11th if they can get a penalty for Albon somehow related to leaving the track/gaining an advantage. Fun.

Looking at the constructors standings, they need alot more than a point to avoid last place.

Well, with 2 races left and them having scored 1 point in the last 11 eleven races, what are the odds they will score many more before the end of the year.

Clearly the ~$10m extra prize money between last and second-last place they feel is motivation enough.

Haas studied onboard videos, including shots from following cars, and the team believes that Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant all committed multiple offences at Turn 6 that went unpunished.

"We just want to bring the case up, because otherwise we need to change the rules. I'm not a big fan of track limits, to be honest.

"I'm the last one who wants penalties on track limits. But if there's a rule in place, we need as a sport to respect rules, that is more the principle of it, than the penalty."
