He stands no chance.
Even if he can prove that the crash was deliberate it had no bearing on the fact that he left the pit dragging his fuel hose. That is what cost him the championship, not the crash.
If he did get them to reopen the case with the stewards they still wouldn't negate the entire event, they would just disqualify the team. If the happens the Massa would lose even more points.
Even if he does win then 2021 will be all over the headlines again, as well as in court, and on top of the RB shenanigan's the sport will probably implode.

I remember a video doing the math on the implications of the 2008 championship.

2012 would not change to Massa even if the race was removed from the "calandar" as he is calling for because there would be sporting penalties applied to the teams in order to remove the race. and Massa and Ferrari would still loose the Championship.
2021 would then go to LH for the same precedent.
and 2012 would not go to Seb but instead to Alonso for some thing in Turkey? or Socchi? I cant remember the logic.
and LH would also be awarded 2016 over Rosberg for some incident that would be deemed delibirate. was some quali incident.

it was most likely all BS. I cant see Massa winning any case like that.
and I also cant see LH opening cases based on the Precedent, nor can i see Alonso doing it.

but man can you imagine how salty people would be if LH went from a 7 time Champion to a 9 time champion all because Massa won a court case?

Horner is keen to draw a line in the sand, the Briton adamant that everyone within Red Bull plays a “key role” in the team. But at the end of the day, he’s the one who leads.

“I think that there’s probably too much said already by other parties,” the 50-year-old said in Saudi Arabia.

“The team is the team, Max is part of the team, Helmut is part of the team, I lead this team, and everybody has a key role to play.”

But as Verstappen’s threat to walk away from Red Bull continues to create headlines with the Dutchman linked to Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes seat, Horner says even his star driver is not bigger than Red Bull.

“No individual is bigger than the team,” he said.

“We have a phenomenal car. We’ve got one seat open for next year. I have probably got 16 drivers that are desperate to be in that car for next year.”

He added: “We have a strong relationship with Max. He’s done a wonderful job. His focus is very much on what he’s doing on track, and that’s where our focus is.”

He stated that if Verstappen wants to leave, he won’t stop him.

Reading between the lines, doesn't seem like Newey is going anywhere.

He's calling the Verstappens' bluff. If you want to leave then GL winning in a worse car...

F1 really has turned into a soap opera. We've had drama in the past but the latest round of it is so "tabloidy".

That is probably how they prefer it tbh. It looked like it was headed downhill before Drive To Survive came along and brought in a new set of fans who prefer that stuff over technical aspects of racing.

No one is more important to the team than Horner. That is what he means. If Max goes, they will find another Championship winning driver and replace him.

It could potentially ruin whatever hopes Yuki and Daniel have of getting a red-bull seat for next season though. I'd think they may be more open to keeping Checo for another season at least if Max goes.

Daniel or Yuki can't exactly be the replacement for Max. Both don't seem to have that "it factor" which are in Championship worthy winning drivers. It probably screws over Daniel more since Yuki has age on his side though he too may be offloaded to another team.

With Max and Marko gone, they won't have to settle for a stable second driver to support Max.

Suddenly every available talented driver on the grid would be interested...

Daniel shouldn't even be in F1 anymore and Helmut has already publicly commented on his driving this season. I've said it for years now, he's passed his peak.

I have my doubts that Yuki would have ever made it to F1 without Honda. Another Stroll. Some talent, but ultimately connections got him his F1 seat and continue to keep him there.

Neither are worthy of a Red Bull seat.

I would be in contact with Sainz right now, and they probably are. Best case scenario: Max stays and you decide on Checo or Sainz. Worst case scenario: Max leaves, you sign Sainz and then extend Checo for another season. Not the most exciting lineup, but two solid drivers in what would be a transitional year. Watch Albon as his contract is up in 2025 along with Russell's. The three, prime real estate young drivers (Leclerc, Norris and Piastri) are locked out of Red Bull's reach for a while.

Norris and Piastri are locked in until at least 2026 (Norris' contract likely has options that go beyond that).

Leclerc is locked in until at least 2026, and like Norris, it appears to have options to go beyond that.

Albon is contracted until the end of 2025.

The only young talent they would have immediate access to is Sainz, Ocon and Gasly, and of the three I am taking Sainz.

Should any of this come true then RB will undoubtedly put Fernando in that seat. I don't think there is anyone else on the grid that can hit the ground running as quickly as what he can. They will push to win another Constructors before the reg changes because I think even RB knows that come 2026 the field is open, and many are tipping Merc and Ferrari to be very strong again if it is more engine dependent.

Like Max said, something crazy would have to happen for him to leave. It all depends on who really has more power behind the curtain. Austria or Thailand. I think if Marko does get let go, Max will jump into the Merc, knowing that 2026 is around the corner.

I cannot believe for a second he has a real chance of an RBR seat. It makes no sense.
Hi driving this season shows that he should not be a contender. The DTS woohoo paints a picture, but you see him doing doughnuts in the middle of a race and it doesn't inspire confidence.

Would be interesting to see Ocon in a Redbull, he seems to be enough of a hardass to become world champion and I can't recall any team mate of his really dominating him in any way, although being paired with Checo might be a problem considering their history.

Agree, the question is if Max leaves, when does he leave...

I really don't see Max leaving. Despite what Christian says, shareholders and the like would probably also have their say. He may be the boss, but losing the golden boy would be a massive fumble. I think they do everything in their power to keep him.
