There is definitely hope, it looks like he is really into it from the interviews and clips I've seen, so I hope that DTS stays far away from it and its an actual coherent story that fits, if done well it could be the push that newer fans need to get more involved in the sport I think
fully agree.
there should be no gatekeeping, if you become a fan because you watched races with your dad great.
if you become a fan because you watched DTS great.
if you become a fan because you watchd the movie, great.

however, if you use how someone becomes a fan of the sport as an insult then you need to go take a hard look in the mirror and really ask yourself some difficult questions. but I don't think the people who do that has the mental capacity to ask themselves those hard questions, or even understand the problem.

Also quite looking forward to the movie to see how close they get it to feel like an actual F1 storyline, hopefully it is not too close to the Need For Speed way of doing things, but from what I understand Brad has been in the paddock plenty and they seem to be trying to get the right feeling for post race interviews and whatever, but well have to see when it releases

I like the fact that they are using existing F1 drivers and teams in the movie, which makes it feel a bit more relatable.

Lewis has also been used a lot as a consultant to get into the F1 way of doing things, so it should be realistic enough, but still with a touch of Hollywood obviously.

I always love that argument "Oh you watch F1 because of DTS"? So what if DTS showed me a side of the sport I wasn't aware of! I don't understand why everyone must be so elitist with everything, like its either 100% right or 100% wrong and only one opinion counts.

I started watching F1 seriously because of DTS, but went back and watched all the races from 2010 onwards because I enjoyed a different side of the sport I wasn't fully aware of, I love the strategy and minute changes that make massive differences across a race. I am not the biggest fan of Lewis but I can congratulate him on a win, I also seriously support Max, but its boring if he runs away with everything like last year, I'm just here for the awesome races and we got one this weekend

I honestly don't know why every hobby needs people who gatekeep it like its some kind of cult

Yeah this definitely, I want some drama, not just a movie that shows 24 races of just plotting around the track, I just don't want them to have manual 8 box shifter handles and a NOS button instead of DRS

Sorry, can't take you seriously.

there are gatekeepers because people want to feel powerful.
they want you to like the things they like and look up to their knowlage, but never question it.
gatekeepers in Metal music is the same thing. its "their" thing, so not everyone can be a part of it otehrwise they are no longer the ones who stand out.

in my opinion its short man syndrome, and gives off small peen energy, compensating for soemthing by tearing others down instead of building them up

I have never understood that, but see it the most in F1 especially around DTS when it became a drama more than a documentary (The first season was awesome).

You must be really insecure to want to make someone feel smaller because they don't enjoy your hobby/entertainment the way you do.

When did we stop letting people just enjoy things

Yeah don't get the joke either. I have been watching F1 since 98 when I was still in High school. Skipped a few years here and there due to other things keeping me occupied or whatever but I can honestly say I like DTS as well. Think it is nice to see some behind the scenes stuff, even if over dramatized at times. Whatever.

Netflix just brought out the "Sprint" series and I love it, makes me hyped for the Olympics. The sport wins!

OMG they have taken over the thread.
Whats next?
One of these DTS fans is going to tell us Perez got a contract extension because he have blackmail over RB.
One of these the Dts fans is going to tell us a 60 year old Brad Pitt beat Stroll by 2s on the simulator.

Apparently in preparation for the movie Brad Pitt got to use the simulator and was actually 2s faster than Sergio Perez but they couldn't officially say anything about it because of some blackmail material or some thing.

I'd like to like DTS, but can't. Over dramatizing is one thing, but outright making fake **** up with fake representation of events with editing and whatnot to create fake drama and controversy so people will watch, no thanks. Folks want the fake stuff, go watch Kardashians

That said, cautiously optimistic about the movie considering the guy behind the TopGun movies behind it, so fingers crossed does it all justice.

There’s only one DTS fan in this thread, he also claims to be a Ferrari fan but almost never posts about Ferrari, he prefers to spout shít continuously about drivers he hates…

I actually really want ro watch it but haven't gotten that far yet. It just sounds boring watching a series about races you already watched. I might really try sometime.

It's not terrible actually. You just have to watch it for what it is, a drama-fuelled nonsense fest. But it does provide some really nice insights to the behind-the-scenes stuff that you don't otherwise get to see. Just remember that it's basically all fiction.

Drivers have actually issued complaints against the series for how inaccurately the series has depicted events, so far as portray drivers in a poor light, to fake tensions between drivers (that dont exist) for the viewership, where paint drivers as enemies and all sorts, when in fact good friends and all sort of nonsense like that, to point of dividing fans over entirely fake narratives that do not exist, fights that didnt happen and sorts.

Do you actually read some of the **** you type?
as a rule no I dont re read the stuff I type, if I did I would fix mistakes in spelling and Gramar and that will be out of character.

but I am sure if you think about it for just a little bit you might see something.
the way you asked the question was to envoke an emotional response, that would put you in a position where you have a small amount of power over the situation, or you would go further to break down what I said and try to disprove it, making you right and me wrong, even if it is only in your head. that would give you power, or at least the feeling of power.

so gate keeping, or trolling online is done to give someone a feeling of power.

thank you for the little practical example to prove my point.

Or, you know, I think these walls of text teenage armchair pseudo psychology nonsense is tiring.
