Lawson was apparently the one who would have gone on loan, but this tells me that RB is possibly thinking Liam might race this year still depending on Perez's form

I would hope this to be true but based on how this year has played out Liam would need someone to injure themselves before he gets a seat this year. If it had to happen I'd imagine RB would delay Perez's replacement until after the Mex GP which leaves only 4 races.

He is one of their own who has had some success in junior formulae. Perfect opportunity to see what you have with him plus no negotiating with a 3rd party to get him in the car.

Least friction and from within their stable is understandable. Not as fun though for the fans but who knows the kid might surprise.

wonder if his team will keep his seat for him in F2? Since there isn't one available with Williams next year
 
Colapinto deserves his shot, Sargeant trod on Vowles toes one too many times.
Pity Colapinto won't be driving in 2025, it would be awesome to have yet another rookie on the grid.
