Make sure the parents in the stands know to cover the kids eyes who see these crashes happen in front of them (or the FIA should provide trauma counselling). Also confiscate all cellphone footage - we don't want the world who didn't pay premium to see this "snuff" live to late go snuff it out on the internet.

Well not this year. Maybe next year things go differently for him and he doesn't need multiple team orders over a weekend to get past his team mate and can win consistently.

But at least this year it'll be such an anticlimax if he won, all things considered.

Yeah, going to be interesting for sure. Oscar should have scored more than Lando this weekend, having to let him pass twice, don't think he will play that team game next year or even the next 3 races seeing that Lando is pretty much out the championship picture.

I think the basis for Papaya rules is always letting them race but neither should be worse off as a result - which is fair.

My view though is that Mclaren entertaining pressure from fans and pundits to chase a mathematical possibility rather than a mathematical probability was a fatal mistake this year resulting in what we're seeing. I'm hoping they'll be more transparent next year as all teams really should be.
 
Thanks to the events of F1 this year, I can confidently say that I have absolutely no idea who will be champion next year.
Could be Jack Doohan for all I know....

If we're honest with ourselves we all knew Lando was never going to win this championship, he just doesn't have it in him. The only way for him to win is for something to happen to Max and chances of that is small.

If Lando wins it from here this will have been the greatest championship snipe by far.
 
what an exciting weekend.

not be bring up the same old points , but -
really weak tea from the british (driver(s) , commentators and race directors)

norris is a complainer.

lewis tried his best, sorry for him.

max was a true race driver , well everyone has their own opinion but you cant deny that he is one of the best

so happy for the alpines. brave, skillful driving. i hope they get more podiums.


landos interview should be purged from the record. its brings a sour/bitter element to the sport.


i don't want to spoil a good weekend discussing the vile bias of the "penalty people"

Realistically, RB and Max take the championship next year. McLaren are the only ones with a car which can challenge (currently at least) and they don't have the drivers to match Max. Piastri is great but not yet consistent enough. Lando is great but not consistent enough and I also think he's not aggressive enough.

Unless someone comes out the gate with a massively improved car, I don't think anyone beats RB as Max's skill tends to make up for any deficit in the car. Maybe Merc will do something with the car, but I doubt they make up that much performance from the off and I don't think Russell or Antonelli will be consistently good enough to mount a real challenge.

Ferrari is showing good pace, I wouldn't write them off. RB is being saved by Max, whoever replaces Checo probably isn't going to do much better than Checo. It's going to be more of the same - Ferrari vs McLaren for the WCC, and Max vs everyone else for the WDC...
