I have to go with Piastri taking Norris at Monza, that was peak!
It was a great move. Certainly one of the best 1st lap overtakes we've seen.I have to go with Piastri taking Norris at Monza, that was peak!
Good. I think that's the right decision. He was never getting a seat, now he can go pursue his interests.Mick to Pursue New Opportunities in 2025
“I am grateful to Toto and the entire Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team for the insight I have gained over these two years. They have undoubtedly made me a more experienced racing driver because I have got to know the engineering side better. But watching these cars race and not sitting in the cockpit myself is tough. I want to get back to focusing 100% on racing. I want to be fully committed to the sporting side of motorsport. Ultimately, it is racing that you want to do as a driver, it is racing that gives you that feeling you love.”

That’s always been a somewhat consolation seat - pity he didn’t get a second shot at F1 - timing is everything …Good. I think that's the right decision. He was never getting a seat, now he can go pursue his interests.
The cynic in me is beginning to wonder if all these dismissals are because they refuse to fix races to the FIA and FoM's liking.
Just one week after former F2/F3 race director Marques took over in F1 from Niels Wittich, who himself was sacked by FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem after the Brazilian GP, there has been further upheaval.
Janette Tan, who had been appointed as Marques’ successor and had been expected to have her first race in charge of F2 in Qatar, has now been unexpectedly dismissed just days before the Losail event.
Tan is not the only senior figure who has departed in recent days, with it emerging that long-serving FIA race steward Tim Mayer has also gone.
Or it could be the whims of an FIA president... It's no secret that FOM would probably dump the FIA if it were an option...The cynic in me is beginning to wonder if all these dismissals are because they refuse to fix races to the FIA and FoM's liking.
This sport has become too consumer and profit focused and it is starting to cost in terms of Integrity and fair play.
FIA and FoM are pandering to the TV producers, who want drama, and not the race fans or the sport.
