It's pretty obvious, I mean Max has never praised Horner since the start of the whole scandal which he can do and which will not contravene RB policy. I guess some desperately hope he and Horner stay together.
And *some* people desperately hope they part ways.

Whether he stays or goes, Verstappen isn't going to be driving any slower.

He is a racing driver, probably the best there is right now with many sponsors etc involved. You don't support other people in situations like these as it could backfire if there is a change in evidence.

"Just over an hour until the first free practice session in Arabia and bad news. They tell me that Carlos is still sick, he's pretty bad, but he's going to try to get in the car. He's not the only one on the team, but getting into a mixer at 300 km/h in Jeddah must not be very pleasant feeling like that..."

That sucks, hopefully he will recover in time for quali.

James Allison says that the overheating issues that struck the W15 in the Bahrain GP remain an “unanswered mystery.”: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/...olve-overheating-unanswered-mystery/10584043/

"... Allison admits that Mercedes is still trying to understand what went wrong in Bahrain.

“Well that was actually the biggest unanswered mystery from the weekend,” he said. “We were substantially hotter in the race than we expected to be. It's always something of a gamble choosing your cooling level for a given race weekend, because you're having to take a bet on free practice running what the weather is going to be like on a Sunday. And normally you're also making a few corrections for different power levels and other things that can vary between the race and when you're doing your practices. This particular weekend was one of the weekends where we had to make the fewest guesses possible, since we'd already run this cooling level loads of times in winter testing, and we'd already run these power levels in winter testing as well as free practice.”

Allison says that the team hit problems despite getting the ambient temperature correct.

“The temperature that we got on race day was incredibly close to what we predicted it would be,” he said. “And therefore we had all of the circumstances to make an accurate prediction for where the [PU] temperatures would be. The fact that we got it wrong by more than one or two degrees is extremely unusual, and quite punishing, because once the cars are above the limit that the engine guys will guarantee the engine to, we just have to back off the car.”

Allison noted that once that happens it’s hard to maintain performance, with tyres also affected.

“We have to back off the throttle at the end of the straights, we have to turn down some of the modes of the engine just to make them survive,” he said. “And that just robs you of lap time, it robs you of tyre temperature, and it just ruins your race effectively. So it isn't solved yet. It's one of the things that we got a programme of work this week in the factory to try to understand of the very small number of things that could possibly have changed between free practice and race, what was it that gave rise to that unexpected temperature increase?

“And it will be a considerable relief when we pin that down and make sure it doesn't then happen to us again at any point this year.”

Mercedes trackside engineer director Andrew Shovlin confirmed that the lap time loss that the drivers experienced was significant, and suggested that Russell would have held onto fourth place without the problem. ..."

Ferrari has reintroduced a rear wing it previously ran during the 2023 Formula 1 season to adapt to the demands of this weekend's Saudi Arabia Grand Prix: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/...3-rear-wing-for-saudi-arabian-f1-gp/10584151/

"... Ferrari has chosen to revert to a lower downforce top rear wing design that the team notes is "fully carried over from [the] 2023 car… this update features de-powered top rear wing profiles in order to adapt to Jeddah circuit layout peculiarities and efficiency requirements".

For the Scuderia's home race at Monza last year, Ferrari optimised its SF-23 with an especially skinny rear wing with a smaller main plane compared to rivals Red Bull and Mercedes.

Those circuit-specific modifications preceded Carlos Sainz landing pole position, with the Spaniard then leading team-mate Charles Leclerc for a 3-4 finish behind the Red Bulls.

Ferrari has also brought two types of beam wings to Saudi, the most aggressive being a single-element model to work in conjunction with the slender rear wing top section. ..."
