That solves my dilemma for next year.

Having been a McLaren supporter for at least 30 years I was torn because HAM was joining Ferrari and they are McLarens arch enemy.

I was dubious when Zak Brown took over but continued to support both McLaren and Mercedes.
Now that I know that Zak Brown is a Trump Supporter and, therefore, a right wing extremists, the decision is easy.

I can now, with good conscience accept that as of 2025 I will be a Ferrari fan and Zak Brown can take what is left of McLaren and fade away.
OMG you have threatened to leave F1 and this thread a million times.
Please do us all a favor.

Lando in a class of his own now. Making Max and that RB look slow.
Never thought I’d say it but this is the race of the year thus far.

And his first win a proper drag against Max and RB? Never lol.

This race definitely rewarding driving skills over hardware.

Norris pwned Verstappen there. What a performance.

Lando’s going to take it this year. It’s the start of the Norris era.
Oh here goes the DTS fans again.
Look we all happy for Lando and that someone else won. BUT
Lando was nowhere, probably would have ended in 6th place.
He got lucky with a safety car and then ended up in the front of the field with the newest tires. If not for that luck he had a pretty average to bad race.
Piastri was by far the better Mclaren driver on the day and I would have called driver of the day between Piastri and Tsunoda.

At least people starting to see why Ferrari did not think twice to say good bye to crybaby Sainz.
What a whiner. Even whining that he is faster than Leclerc when he sits behind him in a DRS train. LOL and within a few laps he could not even keep up while having DRS.
He better take that Audi/Sauber seat quick, otherwise he will end up at Haas.

wtf is wrong with Zak Brown???

and Lando, seriously???

There was a comment last night during the race (Croft I think?) that McLaren was strongarmed, coerced, compelled (enter appropriate synonym here) by the FIA to allow Trump into their garage.

Lando whipping Verstappen… the gift that keeps on giving lol

People losing their minds lol.
It’s not republicans who will get Trump his second stint, it’s the dems.
F1 has forever catered to politicians and leaders of countries but usually this is reserved to ceremonial and procedural participation of the incumbent who usually have the basic sense to try be as neutral as possible. I think that's an impossibility when it comes to Trump and so, for me, it felt more than just being a guest of a team but more of F1 being used as a campaigning tool with the endorsement of the FIA, F1 and McLaren.

I'm sure there'll be differing opinions as with all things Trump - this is just my view.

this morning i woke up ..said goodbye to kids and knocked out again ..woke up 830

Lucky you! I think I passed out at around 2am and had to get up at 5am again to take my son to school for early tests.. It is 9am now and it feels like I have been at work for 10 hours already..

That 10s penalty for KMag was a bit harsh imo and that's just debating the penalty since Sainz didn't get 10s for also causing a collission.

I personally think seargent was to blame there.

Seriously can't believe people want to make a thing about this Trump meet a F1 team. All kind of weirdos meet F1 drivers and teams.

Fantastic Race weekend all around.
there was entertainment in every session.
Fp1 had all the drama (including Lando basically not getting any running due to the steering issues)
SQ had the Maclaren on top of the times for Q1 and Q2 and then cooking its tires for Q3.
sprint had all the drama of the Hamilton Kmag battle and the great moves by Yukli along with Danny getting points
Quali had all the drama of the cooked tires and it felt like there could be a car in the wall at any moment.

the race itself had so much going on between strategy and on track battles.

Kmag deserved his penalties though. for once I don't believe Sargant was to blame at all I think he was a passenger in that.

I wonder if that was Danny's last race like people have been hinting at all year, i think he did enough to earn a few more races, but it feels like Yuki is doing much better than he is.

I also wonder if Sargant will be shown the door for Kimi Antonelli like the rumors are saying. I feel Kimi needs more time in F2 to get those silly mistakes out of the way before he can make the jump.

I wanted to get all my facts first before giving this safety car opinion.

Let me start by saying that last night was the happiest I have been for a Max P2 (read: Max non win) - so stoked for Lando to get his first win. McLaren certainly had superior pace and tyre deg over everyone else in the field - hats off to them and their big Miami upgrade. Lando finally got a truckload of luck and it paid off (safety car).

Now onto my opinion (after having watched the tracker and onboards on F1TV again). The safety car error was responsible for Lando being able to pit and retain the lead. The safety car should never have picked up Max and because it did, it increased the gap between Max and Lando from the 11second when the safety car was thrown, to over 30 seconds when Lando exited the pitlane. Why? Because Lando was just past the pit exit when the SC was thrown, so he had clean air to do a full lap around while Max had to sit at SC speed around the whole lap after being picked up at corner 3/4. This allowed Lando to build a massive space for a pitstop.

If the safety car had waited at pit exit and rather entered the track during the Lando pitstop, it would then have picked up either Lando or Max - but it would have been a very tight pitstop race with the 11 second gap that had existed before the yellows and SC.

Now, let's say Max had jumped Lando during the Lando pitstop. Would he have held onto the lead? Debatable because Lando's 7 second winning margin is telling - there is a very real chance that Max may have been overtaken by Lando.

Nevertheless, Lando had the pace, he had the luck of the SC (not the SC mistake, just genuine luck of staying out long until a SC) and he drove like a machine. Well earned and great to see all of the drivers congratulating him.

Side note - my 2 hour afternoon nap yesterday is paying dividends today.

Highlight - Max in the cooldown room watching his torpedo team-mate almost shunt him (Sky F'ed this up royally with the Ted interview, thank goodness I re-watched the whole thing on F1TV)!
