I see there are some reports that suggest Max did pick up some floor damage when he took out the cone. Regardless, he was not happy with the setup all weekend long so perhaps it did make a difference in the end or perhaps not. Key will be to see the Mclaren's performance at Imola.
That's one take...

The truth is that the team is already feeling the impact of losing Adrian

361kmh... wow

Max without using DRS, is there a speed where he did have it open?

"... Horner suggested that the impact on Verstappen’s car from the earlier bollard incident meant that ending the event in second place was actually a good outcome.

“He hit the bollard around Lap 20, and that’s actually done quite a lot of damage to the underside of the car, so we’ll have to look at exactly what the effect of that has been,” the Team Principal said.
...
“And with the damage, I think second place was actually a decent result.”

Pushed further on the extent of the damage to Verstappen’s RB20, Horner added: “It’s a reasonable amount. The area around the left rear floor, there’s a reasonable amount that’s missing. “I think when you actually see the pictures of what was missing, it wasn’t designed like that!”
...

Asked after the race if he had felt any damage to the car following his contact with the bollard, Verstappen stated that it “didn’t feel different”.

“Maybe it was already damaged. I don't know,” he continued. “I mean I hit that thing and then my pace was the same, so I didn't really know if there was damage.” ..."

With my Red Bull / MV hat firmly on, I still don't think Max had the pace to keep up with Norris. He didn't pull away from Oscar on the mediums before the pole inchident. During the race, someone I follow on X did say that Max was losing a chunk of time at Turn 1 on every lap, which does match up to what Horner is saying, but I just don't think RB stood a chance.

I fear RB20 is showing anti street circuit signs like RB19 did, which does not bode well for Singapore 2024.

I think it's more a case of an unpredictable track and no test time. The hards didn't switch on for him like they did for Macca. A couple of practice sessions would have helped that.

Yeah, I get that same feeling. I still think Max has this year in the bag, but it might only get done by the Las Vegas (which will be pretty epic). Monaco should be very interesting in a few weeks. Perhaps Charles can get a home victory this year.

"EXCLUSIVE @formu1a__uno: Ferrari will lap at Fiorano with the SF-24 2.0 between Thursday 9th and Friday 10th. Similar to pre-Austria 23, the important package of updates that the Maranello team will officially bring to the track from Imola will debut #FORMU1A"

"... The Imola package will be the first of three big upgrades this year and will include the new Red Bull school bellies. The new inlets , reversed compared to the starting solution, will be RB20 inspired , but not an actual copy . Ferrari will adopt its own interpretation of the upturned mouths on the evolved SF-24, also present in a less extreme way on the McLaren . The most important innovation in terms of "pure performance" comes from the changes to the bottom, with a restyling of the conveyors. A minor upgrade to the front wing is being finalized, and it has been decided not to bring anything forward to Miami for the moment. Changes to the red 2.0 will also concern the switches on the cockpit sides.

The SF-24 represented on the track what the engineers expected, if everything goes as it should and the performance continues to be consistent with expectations, the technicians expect an increase of 1 tenth of load and 1 and a half tenth of efficiency. The target is to broaden the settings, also for the benefit of qualification. Having more efficient load in the corners indirectly gives the technicians greater aggressiveness in the mechanical settings. ..."

Ferrari will test the new FIA mudflaps at Fiorano: https://formu1a.uno/it/esclusiva-ferrari-testera-i-nuovi-paraspruzzi-fia-a-fiorano/

"... The new version of mudflaps will be tested by Ferrari which, as anticipated , has reserved the Fiorano track for the F1 project for the days of Thursday 9th and Friday 10th May. On one of these two days, the new aerodynamic appendages designed by the FIA will be tested, with a car from previous years, the F1-75 for example, while on the other, most likely Friday , the second 200 km seasonal filming day will be carried out , with the SF-24 which will debut the long-awaited package of updates that we will then see on track the following week in Imola.

“What we will try in May will not be the final mudflap solution.” he had made it known to Tombazis a few weeks ago. The objective of the Fiorano test would in fact be to collect further information and useful data to understand if the new project is going in the right direction or if it will be necessary to take yet another one. The objective is always to arrive with an effective solution for the 2026 world championship, when the new aero-chassis regulations should also help in achieving the objective, given that the diffuser could count for less than the current generation of cars, however, if the test that Ferrari will carry out in a few hours on the Fiorano track is very positive, then the FIA could consider introducing the new Wet Weather Package as early as next season. ..."

Oh that's useful, now the car following won't be full of mud.
