If we do have a another street race in Chicago I wonder which Historic, classic, European Track will be dropped to make room? Probably Spa but any of them would be a major loss the sport and its culture .....

Let's drop Spa and Silverstone and then we can have Chicago and Detroit.
True, with Ford teaming up with RedBull they are going to demand a Detroit GP.
after all there are only about six British manufacturers that consider Silverstone as a Home race and the British market is of no interest to American companies. ;)

Yep, exactly my thoughts. Who needs British racing anyway, not like any British teams or drivers or tracks or history are related to F1, let's rather have Chicago, the home of Formula 1.

While i have been saying Spa is too dangerous and should be dropped due to the amount of deaths in the past few years, I always thought it would be for a real circuit.

but no Liberty media wants street races because that is something the americans can undertand.

its ok at this rate F1 wll be production cars racing on street tracks with a fan boost option before Alonso retires.

We're watching F1, not a bunch of amateurs. If they drivers felt it was too dangerous they'd make noise to have it dropped.

Leave Spa alone! ****ing plastic noddy Netflix ghrrghhhwuue touching my f1 studio

Losing Spa is like losing Monaco. It's an iconic track on the F1 calendar. At least you get actual racing at Spa rather than the snooze fest that is Monaco...

how many people have died in Spa in the past 10 years?

how many formula 2 drivers?

how many F2 Drivers have died in total in the past 10 years?

now if F2 is just one step below F1 what does that tell you?

I am only kind of joking about removing it. there should definitely be some changes made in order to make it safer.
but sure when its sunny its one of the best tracks on the calendar. but if there is rain around (always its Belgium FFS) there is either a no show of a race like in 2021, or there is a sad moment of silence at the start of the race because of someone died.

and its not the track that is the problem. and its not the cars. its the weather, there is no change you can make to fix that.

I want to state that I also think Monaco should be dropped. because its stale and boring.

It wasn't such a big problem in the decades before the last 10 years.

Maybe there needs to be more focus on the wet weather performance and safety of the cars.

It seems like whenever there's a few drops of rain these days, it's an automatic yellow flag minimum.

Keep Spa, being back Nurburgring or Hockenheim, drop Monaco...

Monaco has hosted the second most races second only to Monza. If it can go then say goodbye to all you hold dear in F1 as far as circuits are concerned. It's part of F1's heritage imho.

I think the problem with Spa is that the cars have gotten so much faster so Eu Rouge is far more dangerous due to that. You could probably change Eu Rouge somehow as that's the main danger on the track, and then only in the wet.

Monaco has a lot of heritage, but it isn't compatible with the modern boats. They're too big to race there. It's no a problem with the track, it's a problem with the design of the vehicles.

its almost as if there has been a fundamental change in global weather patterns that is becoming more and more noticeable in the apst decade. but if you point that out to people they start frothing at the mouth call you a bleeding heart liberal and make some comment about some other irrelevant topic basically beating their chest like a monkey trying to assert dominance. but that is neither here or there. I mean its not like we have seen more weather affected races than every before right?

I just want to state I am not saying we should all be using plastic straws and walking to work, I am saying we should stop allowing the conversation to be suppressed and start finding a way to make a change, most likely by holding those responsible accountable. But while the discussion always start normal it always devolves into a conservative vs liberal chat because internet Chads all think they are just one lucky break away from being part of the 1% they keep defending so much.
