So Lando is now 2nd. Charles drops to 3rd in the championship since he ran out of laps to get past Russell. Perez is still Sainz’s challenger for 4th with Piastri a wildcard. McLaren definitely on the charge and only 33 pts separate 2nd and 3rd in constructors.
Who cares about 3rd...

Yes great pics, hope there is more coming.
Is that other clown still spamming the thread? First time ever I put someone on ignore.
A few from the start, but I didn't have a great vantage point.

I think it is safe to say that Mclaren is or will at least be the fastest car until at least summer break. Max finds a way, showing his and the teams championship quality. Like Max said, it will be very tough to beat this team even if they don't have that clear race pace advantage anymore.

Lando being pissed off is good. He knows now he can win and I can see he is starting to believe it. Mclaren in 2025 for champs, I reckon.

WTF is going on with the Aston's, hell they are nowhere.

I also felt happy for LH, which is weird. I now want him to win a race again...

It seems on qualifying days, yes. I am not so sure on Race day anymore which used to be the case in the past. Lets see in Austria where they are.
Other way around I think. On qualifying days, not sure, on race days, yes, the quickest car. Been the apparent story last couple races now, Redbull playing catchup through practice and qualifying, and then having the pace to win races.

You don't think there's even a small possibility that maybe his car isn't quite as amazing as you all seem to think it is?
Don't act like we all pretend the car is amazing. The car has been amazing for the last two years. In Max's hands it's basically unstoppable. Of late the McLaren's are close, but the Red Bull is still what it is.

Now, Max is an exceptional driver, so he's really get the most out of it. Max qualified 0.020 seconds behind Lando. Perez was 7 tenths off the pace, behind Gasly in an RB. He then managed to take arguably the fastest (or second fastest) car on the grid and made up 3 positions in 66 laps in a car that was fast enough to win.

So yes, his driving is subpar currently. He is capable of more, we've seen it. But he isn't delivering.

Yeah I also think it is more a case of Perez not being able to drive that car the way Max can. And rightfully so, if the car suites Max then you keep it that way.

I am sure that a class driver such as Alonso, Lewis, Norris etc would be able to figure it out, but Perez is just not on that level. This is why I don't understand why they kept him for 2025. He is going to cost the team points and a possible constructors, even as early as this year maybe. He already showed throughout 2023 that he battles with this car at certain tracks.

Or maybe, just maybe, Max is driving an above average car to winning positions every week.

I'd say on current form the McLaren seems a faster car, perhaps the Merc too.

Lewis finished 17.79s behind Max so no, definitely not the Merc. The McLaren is there or thereabouts depending on the track.

I agree Max is driving like a champ, but don't discount the car, it's still overall probably the best, track dependent. Perez is just bad right now. Or at least, not good enough for it to make much sense for them to resign him for 2 years.
