My take on this, both drivers absolutely on the limit here. It started with that awful pitstop putting pressure on Max. Lando smelling blood getting b & w flag for race limits and was most likely on his way to getting a 5 second penalty. This being in his mind was pushing very hard with Max defending very hard.

Ultimately, Max veering to the left to close the door was a step too far imo. I think the pressure of the win, Austria and the car/pitstop issues caused him to make that judgement error.

But, Lando was most likely never going to win anyway with a penalty incoming with 6 laps to go and him still pushing that hard into those corners was also not the best idea. Choose your battles more smartly.

This is racing, Max is a hard driver and Lando is starting to climb out of his shell. There will be many more like these. Sometimes Max will be at fault, sometimes Lando. But we are here for it. It is fun and entertaining.

I’d add that moving under breaking should be policed as vigilantly as track limits imho. Also these blocking moves when you purposefully have no hope of making the corner yourself is not racing.

Yeah 100%. There are valid points for both sides. Lando was also dive bombing the corners quite a lot, which is also not the safest way to overtake. Max brake testing Lando..

This is hard racing man. Lewis is still mentally scarred from 2021 :ROFL:

Not really though. Hard racing happens and is exciting to watch (and be part of, I'm sure) when both drivers respect the rules. When one doesn't it becomes potentially dangerous/race ending as we saw this weekend.

Still, it was fun to watch as a fan, though I would have preferred they do it cleanly and get the results they both deserved.

I think anyone still defending Perez should rewatch the race. Abysmal.

In Perez defense he had side pod damage, pics were shown after the race,
Nevertheless, he is the worst support driver
 
This British mafia is just amazing.
Now I see "their" reviews of the race and they keep showing short extract clips of the previous times Lando tried dive bombing on the inside and "they" say max was moving under breaking.
Go look at the full corners. Max is ahead and he has to turn in the corner. How the hell? Its a corner you have to turn into a corner?
So according to them when you ahead and another driver come from the back in a corner, you may not turn into a corner. You either must stop dead, let the guy pass and then turn into the corner. Or you just drive straight, the race track was just build as a guide, no need to stay on it.

He was clearly moving under breaking and you don't get to own the racing line especially if you have car alongside and need to leave space.
 
Its a pity that these DTS fan are now trying to turn F1 woke.
Well if that is the case I will support it.
All I am asking is that when we show clips in the future of just about every driver moving a bit under breaking while defending, then they either condemn them too or apologize to Max.

LOL do you even read? Of course he is moving, he is turning into the corner? Do you understand what a race track is? If you drive straight and there is a corner in front of you, you have to turn into the corner.

I think you know you're being a little silly here. Nobody has said any of the above. Passions run high when our favourite star doesn't get the result we hope for, but these sorts of statements are a little silly.

We all want fair racing and solid results. When it is anything but that there is bound to be argument, disagreement and chastisement.

Unless there's a car in that space... ya know, when another driver is trying to make an overtake. I know you're used to Max doing overtakes on a straight using DRS only and rocketing pass so you might not be as familiar.

LOL there was not a car in that space, if there was they would have collided. Show us the clips where Lando was alongside Max in those corners when he divebombed. Oly time he came close to being alongside Max was after Max already turned into the corner and he came from the back with too much speed.

I definitely agree with this, he is nowhere near the front 6 guys. Also, Max and RB, now needs him more than ever to be a support driver. The team needs him not only to score more points, but to be able to be that thorn in the other teams arses trying to hunt down Max.
