Piastri was in front, he had first pit option, but Lando was under threat from Lewis, so they brought Lando in first to cover Lewis, provided that he give the place back.

The A-hole that Lando is made him almost not accept the team order as agreed before. The team had to literally beg him to comply.
Then they should have pitted Oscar first. Hamilton was never a threat with a 4 second or so gap and losing more on each lap...

They could have even double stacked Oscar and Lando at the last stop and still kept track position then told them to race to the end… but they were too busy defending ghosts (Lewis)

Saw this live and thought, oh no, Hannah has a "This isn't going to be a good day" face going on. Turned out to be spot on

Semi related: HTF did that Red Bull survive that landing and still finish the race?!
Yeah, second shunt they survived this year. Built like a tank.

This generation of cars seems structurally stronger than the previous one

Hannah clearly takes a bad day to heart. Modern cars only fear punctures + barriers these days…

Max had recently developed a marathon mentality whereby he had verbally expressed his intention to rather finish in the points than a DNF in his drive to secure another championship.

But twice now, with Lando in Austria and now with Lewis, it was a massive DNF/no points risk move. It really is making me the moering with him. He has enough of a lead to keep finishing 2nd or 3rd for the rest of the season with a couple of wins when he can manage it and he will still be champion. If he DNF's with Lando winning or in P2 it will be a massive lead reduction for the championship.

Man needs to chill TFO! It's like he has done a full circle back to 2021 and before!

The worst part is how this gives his haters ammo to point and say "Look, when he has to work for it, he doesn't play nice!"

Cry baby showed his true colors again.
The team had a strategy and one followed it, the other not.
From the first few laps drivers had to manage tires. Oscar did what team told him to do. Lando did not.
Oscar was faster the whole race. Last stint they had to look after the tires so they would have no unexpected problems at the end. Lando ignored that and drove the shyte out that tires creating risk where there was no risk needed.
His stupid ego now ruined a young guys first win. He should have let him past immediately after the pits as was planned by team before and during the race. No way he would have ever passed Oscar if Oscar stopped first. Very few guys managed to pass today, even if their cars was faster/tires better.
Their reactions and emotions on the radio showed who will be a future star and who is just a quick hype who will fade away soon.
The stats says it all.
Norris first win after 110 starts(helped by safety car)
Piastri first win after 34 starts.

Max back to default settings.
He showed maturity recently with a few non-wins but it seems that has worn through already.

Sadly that is exactly what it is, and many has been saying it all along. This is who he is, now those people are being called haters for telling it as it is.

OH and I thought Leclerc had a great race and could easily had a podium if his team did not screw him again.
You stay out way longer than most on first set of tires and you have 5 to 10 laps fresher tires than all those in front and around you.
What does your team do?
They pit you first with the guys that tires was shot and now you have to drive a long stint on mediums to the end just saving tires and not racing.
They could have let him do at least another 10 laps and then put fresh mediums on and race against the rest who's tires would have been old by that stage.

Did anyone see Lando spray Oscar with Champagne on the podium? I only saw Lewis spray him and celebrating the young guys first win.
