I think the 7 time WDC can be considered great. If not him, maybe the guy with the most race wins. Or podiums. Or poles. Or laps led. Or most points. Or most consecutive race starts. Or most consecutive points finishes.

I feel those are valid arguments for considering someone great.

If someone who has done all of that isn’t considered great then someone else who has done a lot less must just be considered mediocre, surely?

That follows, yea. Or, if a lot younger, you could consider them an up-and-comer, perhaps?

Look we have seen that you know little about F1 but let me just help you again.
The discussion was about two good drivers in a team. And I said but Max IS not good he is a great driver. Note that I said is not was.
Now it might be news to you as they don't cover these things in DTS. But age is not your friend when you a F1 driver, actually in most sports.
So although there might be drivers on the grid that WAS great drivers, because of their age they are not great drivers now. Maybe still good, but not great.

Fact remain, Max had many drivers alongside him and they all failed. How long will you all be denying that and keep claiming he does not get good teammates?

I responded to your claim that there was only one great, by disagreeing and saying Max is great too. I didn't say anything about teammates. Are you confusing me with someone else?

Your insistence that Lewis isn't great (coupled with your DTS addiction) is why nobody takes you seriously.

Disliking a driver or team is fine, but when you deny basic and objective facts is when you become a laughing stock. You don't like Lewis, we understand that.

He does still have more than double the WDC trophies Max has though, so you do have to keep that in mind ;)

The “Ferrari fan” that never discusses Ferrari and denigrates Ferrari drivers but just looooovvvves a RB driver and talks BS about a British mafia controlling the stewards.

I did not mention names. Alonso Was also great, not anymore.
You seem to struggle between present and past.

Laughing stock? Well if the benchmark is fans from a team, that wish people die in helicopters, that claim Perez stay because of blackmail, that insult drivers family, that use the most inappropriate language on the F1 threads, etc, etc, then I don;t really care what you lot think.
Lets not forget that your biggest Merc buddy, is the same person that for 2 years in a row nearly exploded because a fellow forum member visited a race and shared photos. Real cream of the crop you bunch are.
 
a laughing stock is someone that is just wrong and who makes mistakes. you know like Ferrari and McClaren strategists.

Vaaldam is a pointless troll who gets things Wrong on purpose to get a response out of people because his life is sad and if he does not feel like he wins at least 1 internet argument per day he will be at risk of death

Again we were talking about current drivers and how good drivers they are NOW, not what they have accomplished.
I am sure Alan prost and Jackie Steward will be named as some of the greats of F1.
So if we put them in the car next to Stroll now, will they perform great? Will they get pole? Will they even beat Stroll? Or will Stroll lap them after 5 laps?
 
Geez stroll is not even my in head anymore like I said before the action is upfront
 
Excited about the Williams line-up! Really hope they can battle for points every race next year.

Disappointed about Perez staying, for no other reason than its getting a little boring now.

I seriously don't understand how you reason. When Schumi was at Merc was he then relegated to your "no longer great" pile?
