Sadly my brother works for one of the sponsors so guess what racing gear I wear :p
I went to an event hosted by AMF1 and one of their sponsors.
People there were openly joking about people taking the Lance Stroll line when they missed the braking point and went straight on through the chicane

They'd rather bring out a safety car and red flag it. I don't recall seeing so many red flags as we see today when I started watching.
Even the TV broadcast has gone soft. In the good old days we can watch the accident and the aftermath where they have to hold up sheets for privacy, now we get to see nothing until it has been deemed okay to show for the snowflakes.

I think this is more for the family than anything. If an accident turns fatal, I can't imagine that the parents or loved ones of the driver involved would want endless replays of the incident beamed straight into their living rooms...

We seemed to have managed just fine over the last 50 years. The family is more than welcome to look away.

Go check out Jack Miller's accident from yesterday's MotoGP and see if you want your kid seeing that.
Who gives a ****. People have gone soft in this everybody gets a participation prize world. In the 60's the drivers would have a triple jack on the rocks before the race and race with no seatbelt. What about those parents?

Ironically he was arguing with the team about pitting earlier. Had they listened to him, he would have finished off even lower.

Max may rightfully be getting the accolades, but I can guarantee that it was Hannah and co. who made the call to keep him out as long as possible. And the drivers respect their calls. McLaren needs to sort out their strategy team, it's been a mess all season...
All round team effort, including the driver.

When the hectic rain started, Max and GP went back and forth on the radio. Max said it's getting a lot wetter. GP asked him if he needs full wets. Max asked how long this rain will carry on for. GP went silent for a bit. Max reminded GP that he doesn't have access to the weather radar. GP said he expects the rain to ease in 4 minutes. Max said he will rather soldier on with his inters then if it is only 4 minutes. GP asked Max if he is happy with his front wing setting, to which replied yes. Max tip toed around and mentioned that the track is dangerous and undriveable due to deep standing water. (I only watched the on board once, but am sure I have it correctly ordered)

I honestly thought Lewis was going to do better yesterday coz that guy is amazing in the rain.

He struggled the whole weekend - Russell was much more comfortable overall

His car is a disaster. There are some side by sides of the handling of Russell vs Lewis's cars around a lap and he's wrangling the car every corner. Merc is prioritizing Russell especially being under budgetary pressure without a doubt.

I noticed that. I wonder why he has such a bad car this year

Possibly numerous factors. Priority being given to George from an update and development perspective. Getting slowly but surely frozen out of team meetings, chat etc. Or maybe he's mentally checked out and is already thinking about next year. It must be difficult to keep your motivation up when you're potentially moving onto better(?) things, having been in the metaphorical doldrums for the last three years.

Yeah I guess he is been treated as a back stabber for dumping his team after such a long time with them

Is he preparing himself for #2 driver at Ferrari? Does he not want to win championship again?
