More ridiculous is the inconsistency, especially when they have access to telemetry data. Giving one team that penalty, but not another for doing the exact same thing during the exact same incident...

to be fair they changed the car from Sprint to Race - they pitted Perez int eh sprint to experiment with a setup change and that benefited Max for the race

Yes, a 10 sec stop/go at that point of the race was effectively a DSQ for a minor offence that, according to the video footage, did not happen. He was penalised for a double yellow but the video only shows a single yellow for a fraction of a second as he approached it then it went out again. Another RD error compounded by an excessive penalty.

That race was a farce, the FIA president should be assisting the car industry as a whole not Micromanaging F1.
He keeps claiming to be a driver, maybe he would be better off applying to UBER.

It is all the British mafia's fault.
They hammered Max with ridiculous penalties the whole year. Even that stupid grid penalty with qualifying when both were on cooldown laps.
Now the fans and worldwide press got hold of this British bias and it is affecting the sport. So what do they do. They wait till Norris can't win championship anymore and hammer him with a big penalty to say, look all is fair and square.

You see this in other sport like rugby too. The ref will penalize the one team the whole match, and when the contest is over late in the game, he suddenly start penalizing the other side so the numbers look better.

Well teams only had one practice before sprint, so they could not get proper setup right. We have seen this on other sprint weekends too where cars did better in the race than sprint.

yes from George's point of view Verstappen was the problem as he both braked and Swerved on the racing line, and forced George to go wide to avoid collision, and that compromised George's lap but not Max's lap. so yes there should have been a penalty, but it should have been for Alonso not for Max.

my feelings about max have been made very clear in many posts here. but even with my personal bias I can say the penalty was not correct.

GEEZ, Russel was on his out lap, Max did not compromise his lap time. Its a BS penalty. Thats why its 1 grid place and not 3 or 5 like normal. Just all BS
