Hamilton is still quick, hell even Alonso is quick, they are just driving **** boxes at the moment.
We're seeing what everyone expected playing out. Why would the team put any new secrets on Hamilton's car when he's off to a competitor next year? If anything, his driving for Mercedes this year has compromised their own situation.

No, it didn't. Watch the video. He pushes past Verstappen and then slows down to create space behind Alonso.
Tyre and brake temps are tricky to maintain, of course it compromised him, but it's one of those suck it up things IMO. Stewards were micro managing something they didn't have to.

I have no doubt Lewis will be competitive next year. The only question is if Ferrari have a top 3 car as per the latter half of this season...
Agree 100% he will be quick AF
If he isn't I do not want to listen to him whining on about the car coz that excuse is not going to work next year.

Yes, a 10 sec stop/go at that point of the race was effectively a DSQ for a minor offence that, according to the video footage, did not happen. He was penalised for a double yellow but the video only shows a single yellow for a fraction of a second as he approached it then it went out again. Another RD error compounded by an excessive penalty.

That race was a farce, the FIA president should be assisting the car industry as a whole not Micromanaging F1.
He keeps claiming to be a driver, maybe he would be better off applying to UBER.
I'm amazed how seemingly intelligent folk can post such complete drivel with so much confidence. It really is quite special.

@Naks - Want to start a continuation thread? The mods sooner or later will close this thread as it's reached the 10,000 post mark?

Not a 2024 continuation thread, but I suppose the 2024 chat can carry on here? Seems pointless starting a new thread for a week's worth of bitching, fighting, crying, arguing chat.

OMG Drivers leave teams for other teams all the time. Never has there been talks about sabotage, one teammate getting better car than the other, secrets etc. But hey now that Sir Lewis is, his fans comes up with all kinds of conspiracies for his lack of pace.

To be fair, Nigel Mansell accused Alain Prost and Ferrari of shenanigans whilst driving for the latter. He claims that Prost complained that his car handled better and got the Ferrari mechanics to swap them without his knowledge.

“People said it was a spur of the moment decision because I was upset after my car broke. Others said it was just a ploy as part of the driver negotiation market. Neither of those is true. It was a genuine decision. Rosanne and I had talked it through before Silverstone, and we’d decided we were being manipulated. I was nearly 37, I’d had a good career, been team-mate to three World Champions, won 15 Grands Prix. I knew I wasn’t going to drive for Ferrari any more, and I didn’t want to drive for a lesser team. I felt I wouldn’t have another opportunity to win the World Championship, so I decided not to play any more.”

Then again Nige did have a reputation for developing a siege mentality around him and being a bit of a moaner.

“He thinks everybody is trying to shaft him at all times,” former Williams boss Patrick Head once said of the enigmatic Mansell.
