Don't know why, but I also see that coming.Max to Merc next year
Kimi is Toto's little home-grown champion, he'd absolutely never let him go. Sorry Georgie, Max needs your seat...I would be interested to see who Toto kicks to the curb if Max comes calling later the year.
I disagree. And definitely not Champion material.
Genuine question with no malice intended: Did Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Verstappen have as many unforced major accident errors as Russell? Examples: near roll in Autralia last year, hit the wall and crashed out from second in Singapore (I think it was Singapore - night race with Hamilton behind him). Then we go back further - binned it behind the safety car when still with Williams. I do not recall those errors by world champions before or during their championship years......I disagree.
Not to forget Yuki comes along with a Honda financial incentive as per Kym Ilmans comments. I doubt Lawson has the same. This is where it's so much harder these days with more races and way way fewer testing hours. MS could put in hundreds of laps between races in his day.
Not to mention Vegas. I'd rate Russell above average at best but I'd surprised if he ever won a championship. I see him more as a strong #2.Genuine question with no malice intended: Did Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Verstappen have as many unforced major accident errors as Russell? It would make sense for him to venture to another team, he's been with Red Bull for 10 years already, has 4 titles with them, but it would be nice to see him driving for another team now. His contract is until 2028, but I'm sure there would be a get out early clause in there.Don't know why, but I also see that coming.
Keep giving Max a bad car and he will leave Red Bull like a sack of potatoes. Even an Aston Martin move might be possible the next few years if Newey tells him the car will perform. That will mean the end of Stroll as Max will not drive besides him.
He's a David Coulthard in my opinion. Not to mention Vegas. I'd rate Russell above average at best but I'd surprised if he ever won a championship. I see him more as a strong #2.
He did, but I'm not sure that really tells the story.Did Lawson not drive 6 races including practice sessions and qualifying last year? Thats more than most of the other rookies.
I think it all depends on what happens the rest of this year. If like it looks now, the Red Bull goes from bad to worse, I think he will jump ship.It would make sense for him to venture to another team, he's been with Red Bull for 10 years already, has 4 titles with them, but it would be nice to see him driving for another team now. Although the Merc seat will be open I doubt he'll go for it. He might just stick it out a bit longer and see what happens at Aston Martin, and might go there instead. 2026 and the new regs is what will hold everyone at bay for the short term. We have no idea how things will play out, so it will be a waiting game for any new moves.
Alonso didn't qualify last in a car that clearly isn't the worst. Red Bull may have issues with their car, but it's no Sauber.I mean Alonso hasn't even finished a race yet, is being beaten soundly by Stroll and now has an injury. No outcry about his performance even though Liam is performing better than he is.
BUT! He wanted that hot seat. He was arrogant. He and his management could have said we want to develop first in a smaller team. You go for gold, this is what happens. He did, but I'm not sure that really tells the story.
For one, the Red Bull is clearly a very different animal.
For another, the first race was in Australia which he's never raced and the conditions were horrendous with multiple people going out (including Alonso).
The second race was at a track he hasn't driven since 2018 in a very different vehicle.
Clearly his performance is not up to scratch, but I think he's being given a very hard time, all things considered.

Toto is placing his bets on Antonelli. George's job is to mentor him, he just doesn't know it...i was of the opinion that toto is putting his cards on george (or whatever. i dont play cards)
but the forum seems to know otherwise.
either way - i hope max goes shopping this year. preferably early-mid year
Kimi Antonelli is Toto's pet project. He found Kimi while he was scooping up trophies left right and centre in the Italian karting scene while he was very young indeed. Toto has basically been guiding him through the process of getting to F1 for quite a few years now.i was of the opinion that toto is putting his cards on george (or whatever. i dont play cards)
