Thus far... there are only two disappointments so far this season.
Hamilton and the second Red Bull car... maybe they should get married. :giggle:

Yeah LH has been going backwards for a while now. Hearing him speak afterwards is not good. Really should evaluate what he wants to achieve in F1 still. Another championship ain't it.

My worry is that RB will rush Isaac into that seat. They are not competing for constructors so let Yuki see if he can find his feet and let Isaac do a full year of F1 before promoting him.

Data exposes bizarre Max Verstappen action in George Russell clash:
Under pressure from his engineer, Verstappen waited three laps before giving the position back—then launched an immediate counterattack. Telemetry from Lap 64 shows Verstappen lifting to allow Russell through on the short straight before Turn 5, only to reapply full throttle instantly and move toward the Mercedes. This was not a typical throttle input for that section of track, raising questions about intent.
Rules dictate that a driver returning a position may not attack for at least two corners. Verstappen’s immediate lunge violated this spirit, catching Russell by surprise and risking a high-speed collision. While Russell escaped damage, Verstappen received a 10-second penalty and dropped to tenth, turning a strong recovery drive into a major setback in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings.

What an interesting Spanish GP... much better than normal.

Verstappen being in the wars and not making the best of the situation in the last few laps due to the tires he was given and ultimately behaving like a prick. I was actually rooting for him until the safety car due to his strategy and his performance and hoping he could hustle the McLarens at the end at least, but then the ugly side came to the surface.

Well done Piastri... well on his way to the championship.

Well done Hamilton for going backwards again... what is the excuse this time. He says he learnt 'absolutely nothing' these past three races. That's nice to know, that inspires confidence... you're supposed to be part of the GOAT list, getting paid a huge sum of money because you're a talented driver and because of your achievements. Well, sorry bud, you ain't showing me anything to that effect. How can you struggle this much, surely you must adapt if you're that good and skillful. If you're serious about still racing maybe focus on the racing and get your siht sorted out first and focus less on all the other curricular activities/distractions that's not racing, that's what I would do in his situation. If I know I'm struggling, then my focus would be 100% on licking the issues.

If the Ferrari team was mine I would replace Hamilton asap (how dramatic) and put Alonso (yes, I like Alonso and still rate him above many on this grid and with a winning car he will also be able to still win) in that car (pipe dream of course), he will definitely make better use of the equipment just to prove a point, and to further, I still rate Alonso more talented and a better driver than Hamilton and would take Alonso over Hamilton any day in my team. Alonso has more fight in him, more determination, yes he can also be a handful, but I know what I can expect, even when the chips are down... to me Alonso has always shown and proven that over his career, and he is one of those drivers who should've had more championships, and even wasted many years at the wrong time with teams, but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes in F1. And screw anyone saying he's too old, he's still bloody fast and still can win races or another WDC.

Hamilton struggled at Merc too when he did not have the fastest car.
Oh and don't forget Sainz on your list of disappointments.

There is also onboard footage where you can see Max is clearly and repeatedly looking to his right to see where George is. He also doesn't appear to try and make the apex,.

He knew what he was doing.

Max has basically admitted to doing it on purpose.

I'm not a big fan of the guy but I feel that he is feeling that now he doesn't have the car anymore and he knows it so that "1" is going to someone else again next year.

All I want from F1 is to watch every single race and it literally be like a lottery - anyone can win. That's what I want, I don't care WHO wins, just not the same people all the time.

With that just said, I'm so stoked to see Williams doing so much better.

This is Max being Max.

When he has to get into fights with a car that doesn't have a clear edge, he gets his elbows out and get scrappy. We saw it in 2021 and he done it last year with Norris a couple of times.

Michael was the same, and I am a Michael fan. He was not an easy driver to go up against if you had to fight him for space on track and he done some pretty stupid things.

Lando doesn't have a WC in him, 2025 is Oscars year.

Whilst I agree that Oscar is the better of the two (I actually said last season if Lando didn't win then Oscar would come into his own this season), people writing off Lando already are foolish. Lando has the added british media pressure whilst Oscar doesn't so he is able to get into the zone a lot easier but all it takes are a few bad races / DNFs to build scoreboard pressure. We're still at the pally pally stage of this championship and it would be interesting to see how they handle it when things boil over. The last time McLaren were in this position they lost the championship to a rival team.

Funny guy, Alonso can't even keep up with Stroll this season, and Strollovich is a retard.

He shouldn't be paying attention to anything in the media. I doubt Piastri or Max are reading the news, their focus is on driving...

The part that stood out to me was signalling Hamilton out for being negative about his car and then suggesting Alonso as a better option. He clearly hasn't been paying attention, because Alonso is extremely caustic when he is not happy with his car. Some of the finest F1-related soundbites was Alonso once raging about his McLaren.

Senna was the same.

Yeah and both got heaps of flack for their aggressive styles at times but nobody even talks about that anymore, they are just seen as some of the best of all time.

I think Max will fall under this category as well once he is done. Hate him or love him, he is the best in the world atm.

F1 has become a bit soft these days. Nobody is willing to push the limits, try a 50/50 move etc

Everyone is so afraid of their social media reputations, that when a guy like Max pushes the limit he is automatically seen as a dangerous driver..

He was clearly wrong on Sunday though but again, you expect that to happen every so often with guys like him. Senna literally drove into Prost to win the title.

I grew up on a diet of 90s Touring Cars and NASCAR. Deliberately banging into and shunting other drivers was par for the course and it was a part of the charm.

A bit different with F1 though because a punt can essentially end someone's race. F1 cars do not take damage as well as a touring car or stock car. Touring cars or stock cars, the guy you punt was often able to carry on and he'd just come after you and return the favour.

You can add Senna to that list.

I never mentioned anything about Hamilton being negative about the car, because fundamentally there is nothing wrong with the car, it's the driver, so he should be negative about himself, and I'm well aware of Alonso's temperament that's why I said that Alonso can be a handful as well, knowing his fiery temper. Yes, Alonso will always be the better option, and the reason I use Alonso is because they are from the same era and the two oldest drivers in F1, thus the comparison., and I will stand by that statement that Alonso overall is a better driver than Hamilton. I could've said anyone else's name could be put in that Ferrari now, and they will still do better.

The McLaren when Alonso was there, now that car was a real dog, as slow as an F2 car and back of the field, so yes, frustrations and complaints can be excused when the driver is wanting to perform and move forward. To even compare it to this year's Ferrari is ludicrous, and this year's Ferrari is not so bad. I'm picking on Hamilton for a reason, because so much more is expected of him and because of his credentials and achievements, it will stand out more when it's lacking. The basics of an F1 car are all the same, and at the end of the day how you manage to setup your car will determine if you're fast or not. It seems Hamilton and his race engineer can't even do that. If you can't figure out how to use the brakes, seriously, or to make sure your car isn't lose at the rear, or to gain time in certain corners etc. How much time do you need to get used to something... it's already been round 9 in the season for an experienced driver.

And to even compare Alonso against Stroll, even this season, now that's just being thick and funny.

You guys can sugar coat all you want, I say it like I see it.

What year might that be?

Nah, you have to be trolling. No one can be this thick. And Alonso can certainly be compared to Stroll, they're in the same bloody car.

Other than McLaren and Alpine, Ham and Charles are the only drivers that are really close to their team mates standing wise, every other team has big gaps between the team mates, so saying this years Ferrari is not too bad is ludicrous. Charles has been in that team for yonks, yet there only a 20 odd point difference between them.

They're not British with cameras in their face all the time. Something Lando has to come to grips with and often struggles with as he has openly admitted to.

But they all reside in Monoco, so I think they all get similar treatment there to be honest. In fact, I think Max gets hounded more at F1 weekends by the press due to his controversial nature, makes for good clicks.
