So Piastri can maybe put on his championship winning pants and do damage control or do one of those classic "defining" drives the greats sometimes do.... or he can bin it and just lose a truck load more points today, hope things just fall in his lap, count down the races.
 
Lando has everything to lose here, so surely he'll behave at turn 1... right... right?
 
I sometimes wonder if it's not always better - if you go for an alternative strategy - to put on hards first and later the softs. Except for the safety car risk, I don't see the benefit.

You're going to put early on those sorts and rejoin somewhere in traffic, possibly behind an Alonso DRS train and just sit on hards doing nothing.

Put on hards first, bubble to first place during pits, switch to softs closer to the end when the cars are spaced out. And then you're also potentially the fastest.

But then we've seen going long on hards also not work so whatever.

EDIT: or you switch to mediums. This is better I guess. What do I know.

DRS has been McLarens Achilles Heal this season, it is less effective than the other teams because of their wing configuration, but, conversely their performance advantage is also because of the wing. Interesting compromise that was paying off until Max soddenly woke up.
 
Norris coming back. Just hoping that if he bins it eventually he doesn't take Clucky with him.
 
Who has the fastest lap? If Verstappen has this is another grand slam, no?

Charles had an incredible race and a masterclass in defending. Pity Piastri / Hamilton didn't pit with a dozen or so laps left to get fresh tires - might've made it a bit more exciting. Max doing what he does. It's going to be a close end to the season. If it weren't for LEC/NOR squabbles it would've been a boring race. Looking forward to Mexico.
 
Am I about to eat my own words here saying Max is out of this competition... No way he can do this... right?
 
Win every race Lando must come second and Oscar come third I think the math works :ROFL: :ROFL: :ROFL:
