My bad, it seems to be a rule of Sprint Quali that Mediums must be used.

What's more, the drivers must use medium tyres in SQ1 and SQ2, and soft tyres in SQ3 while parc ferme rules are in play from Sprint Qualifying through to the Sprint. Teams are then allowed to make alterations to their car after the Sprint ahead of qualifying for the Grand Prix.

All good though, it distinguishes itself from regular Quali by doing that.

In other news, good quali overall. I don't think we should put much into McLaren's sprint results, I reckon they're still the team to beat if they can get clean laps. Cracker of an effort by Max, I don't think the RB has the outright pace unless you drive perfectly.

I don't think this is accurate. They have to use new sets in each of SQ1, SQ2 and SQ3 so there's no real way to save tyres

The thing is the Red Bull still has that odd understeer/oversteer issue which must make turns 1 & 2 an actual nightmare to get through.
