F1 2025

FML what was RedBull supposed to do when one driver is at the top and the other is at the bottom? F1 is a business, not a charity. They could have fired him outright but didn't, Liam tried and it just didn't work out, he may thrive at VCARB now who knows. Yuki is a tough nut, he'll be fine.

If I drove in F1 and came last and my teammate first, I would expect to be fired... so would you. In fact every single person on this group would come last and as such expect to be fired. Being swapped is a huge plus and Liam is well aware of it I'm sure.
Red Bull is broken and its because of the way they run things over there. They have designed their car around the way their star driver drives, and they have basically min-maxed the car to the extreme to suit Max's strengths, which has upset the balance of the car. This means that if any other driver used to a stable car tries to drive it, they battle to keep it on the road and going around corners effectively.

Yuki has far more experience than Lawson, I think he has quite a strong chance of scoring points at Suzuka provided he can wrap his head around it in Free Practice. Lawson has spent very little time driving that car, even as practice.

Yes they should rather follow AstonMartin's philosophy and keep a driver in the seat for years and hope someday he will score a podium finish for the team. If these British pundits was in charge of a billion dollar racing team it would go bankrupt in 2 years.
If Max gets too despondent and leaves, Red Bull are screwed royally because literally no other driver can drive their car effectively. Although, if anyone else could drive it effectively it would be Antonelli. He's super effective in wet conditions just like Max is, which means he would have the sensitivity and precision to master it like Max. But there are literally only two drivers on the grid like that.

For some reason there's a lot of hate for RB on this thread. Doesn't really what they do, they'll get flamed by the expits

Can't speak for the others, but I don't hate hate RB. The general sentiment is that Yuki should have been there in the first place. Many of us were saying this as soon as Lawson was announced already.

The only person I don't like there is the nazi. Not the greatest Max fan, but I can at least respect him...

It seems many just read what they wanted and not the truth from what Red Bull/Christian Horner said.

Red Bull Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner said: "It has been difficult to see Liam struggle with the RB21 at the first two races and, as a result, we have collectively taken the decision to make an early switch. We came into the 2025 season with two ambitions, to retain the World Drivers' Championship and to reclaim the World Constructors' title and this is a purely sporting decision.

"We acknowledge there is a lot of work to be done with the RB21 and Yuki's experience will prove highly beneficial in helping to develop the current car.
We welcome him to the Team and are looking forward to seeing him behind the wheel of the RB21."

Yuki was swopped to help develop the car for the rest of the year. Struggling rookies can't do that.

Its a good swap, I think most people are just confused about why they didn't just pick Yuki from the get-go. He's the best choice they have, but they picked a rookie instead.

In addition to this, Japan is Yuki's home race so I do understand why Honda pushed for it to happen now rather than later. Its unfortunate timing for Lawson, but it is what it is.

I think Yuki will at least score some points in that car instead of running around the bottom 5 places of the field. Now that I know he also likes a pointy car with a slidy rear thanks to his karting days, I think he has the skillset to do this. He'll provide some good feedback to the engineers.

I hope Lawson takes this opportunity to refine his skills at VCARB, he didn't deserve to be mistreated like that. Just knock out some good consistent results to rebuild that confidence.

Like you have never had some sexy chat with a chick, who cares! what has his personal life got to do with formula 1... nothing.

Yuki swap was because of Suzuka, if it was 2-3 races down the line then I'm sure RB would have delayed it, next weekend will be a huge crowd draw for them and as such more cash in the pocket.

Also, to say Liam just can't drive the car because it's built for Max, no... they have simulators that cost millions and are 99.99999% accurate, RB can see how he drives in the sim vs real life, and as shown he just can't handle the pressure in real life etc.

I mean you joke…but so far Stroll has not ****ed up this year and beaten his team mate in both races.
